apparently this cars strongly influenced the 2006-2007 falcon. i saw an outline sketch of it in a magazine and it looked pretty sick. ford said they were gunna keep the straigh six as well, since the engine bay has to fit a v8 anyway
I hope they build it !!!

I have a modified 9c1 and I love the car. I need a car that looks convervative but has aggressive performance. I also need 4 doors and alot of room. There has not been any options since the 96 impala. Finally it looks like someone - in fact chevy, dodge and ford have heard my wishes. SS, srt-8 and 427. I'm not sure which one (nor do I care), but I expect SOMETHING from one of them. I realize all these cars will change on the way to production, but as they are now, the 427 would be my choice. Good luck all

Or isn't this almost identical in appearence to the Lincoln Continental Concept? If you ignore the grill, the body of the two cars are incredibly similar.

This powerplant needs to find a home in the rear of the Ford GT. As a respnse to those who think this motor's output is overrated, I would like to point out that in 1993 Ford began using a modified SAE net testing cycle to determine actual production output. Excluding the debacle with the '99 Cobra, Ford's numbers may be quoted LOWER that actual (chassis or hydro)dyno numbers. I have little doubt that a 7 litre motor with four valve heads can produce 600 hp. That's why it needs to be offered in the Ford GT.

"Hey, ""ds_carfan"": with Fords record of horsepower projections this thing's probably around 495 hp not 590. They've been massively over-rating their engine's horsepower ever since the Thunderbirds of the late 50s. (they had around 315hp and were rated at 390hp) Remember the 2000 Cobras? What a PR disaster THAT was for Ford. Yeah, that makes me confident about Fo.Mo.Co. And by the way, with the Fords absurd weight the Chevy SS will still out perform the 427 since its power-to-weight ratio will be the same or better in a more aerodynamic package. There's a reason GM's stock is doing well and Ford's in serious trouble."

To be breif..This is the biggest load of shit i have ever seen in my life. If they were to make a car to represent their anniversary, they shoulda made antoher version of the GT90 or something, this brings tears of sorrow to my eyes...ew!

Regardless this car gets made or not, the engine has to be able to see further application. As it is ligter than 5.4 V8(supercharged or not), and can put out equivelent or more power, this is screaming to be put in something like a Ford GT....

......the chevrolet ss is original. it looks exactly like the maxda rx-8 and im not the first erson to say that by the way. and who cars if the old galaxies werent powered by v10's, this is only a concept. have a look at the ford us line up and u'll see its dominated by 4.6L MOD v8's, so dont u think if this goes into productin it'll just join them or take advantage of the extra torque from the 5.4? concepts are barely ever the final decision in somethings design, most of the time they're a trial for an idea
 Chevy SS...PLEASE

Though the SS concept from Chevy is smooth and prissy, the 427 is could swallow it up without even trying. Yes it is true, the SS is a housecat, but the 427 is a mountain lion, untaimed and ready fight. With 427 cubic inches and 590 ponies under the hood, this baby is ready to roll!

"First off this thing has NOTHING in common with the original 427s of the past. Those were V8s not V10s. I'm not a Ford phanatic but even I think a 1960s Galaxy 500 of Fairlane is a lot more cool and beautiful than this black ""Toaster Owen"". Ugly! There's not one original line on the whole car! The Chevrolet SS is much more sexy AND very original unlike this audi rippoff!"

At last an american car company embracing modern engine design with DOHC and 4vavles per cylinder, unlike the Cadillac Sixteen.
 living legend

"i think its a great marketing stragety that ford us is pulling with the ""living legends"", but the only thing that seems to be a link between the old and new cars is the designing. im sure the original thunderbirds had more than 188kw like the new one does. if a car that is remotely like this were to go into production, i highly doubt that ford would use a 440kw v10, probably more like a 150kw v6. its wrong to get peoples hopes up then stick in an engine half as impressive. rather than build this, ford us should import the falcon lwb fairlane and ltd. their base 4.0L six cylinder engones are basically as powerful as the lincoln lown car 4.6 and are offered with a 220kw v8"
