MP4-18 will never make it |
WirelessCoyote 29-11-2003 |
The MP4-18 that all Mclaren Mercedes Fans waiting for, will not be able to race. But instead, the 2004 season, Mclaren will bring out the new MP4-19 this could be a good thing to hear. The reason I am saying that its better to give up the MP4-18, is because they were having so much trouble while testing it. The MP4-19 might give the team and fans hope to win the 2004 championship. |
greatest stroke of genius designing brand new chasis |

its the most beautiful mclaren ever to run...i hope its in the race track soon to make ferrari and bmw williams eat its dust..the engine is too good |
Why all thye wait? |
james 27-6-2003 |
Because mclaren don't need to enter their car until ferrari is actually putting up a proper challenge. Yes they have won 3 of the races but what do they have to show for it, they are still only about 3 points ahead of mclaren. They are also waiting because they don't want to ruin the debut of their new car. Basically they won't bring it out because they don't need to. |
Wow what a 'nice' car |
Schumi 24-6-2003 |
First of all, your site is excellent. I spend about 3 hours on this site evertime I go online. Very nice site of yours. I have a little comment on the new Mclaren, a negative comment because as you may see I am a great Ferrari supporter. A really nice car, I think this year Mclaren would beat Minardi, I really trust the new Mclaren. I think that with the magnificent car that Ferrari has produced this year makes all Mclaren supporters illusors that their Kimi will win the championship. And another thing, if the car was good enough I think that they would go ahead and put the car in the race track like Ferrari did after all. I also think that a beautiful car must be aerodynamic and reliable to win races not just beautiful. |
looking forward to a new time in F1 |
james 23-6-2003 |
formula 1 has changed a lot since last year and has improved geatly but i believe mclaren can make it even better. The new car will give ferrari a huge battle for the championship. I believe it has the potential to do this with ease as ferrari aren't showing the potential they usually do. Also the mp4/18 is beautiful and more so than the f2003 GA and that means a lot. |
wow she looks fast! |
Kimi 16-6-2003 |
nice job on the nose, like the way they've narrowed it and raised it. Also they have a new mercedes V10 engine and one of the best formula one drivers in the world Kimi Raikonnen. At the hands of Kimi this car the MP4-18A is going to win the championship for McClaren no doubt about that especially since the F2003-GA isn't all that it was cracked up to be. Infact the current Williams BMW is faster. McClaren are still doing well with their modified version of last seasons car the MP4-17D but the new McClaren is a massive step forward from that when it comes out which is expected to be at Silverstone it will be winning McClaren grand prix's!!! |
silver streak |

"car looks impressive. and it's got a few prancing horse supporters starting to doubt their ""awesome"" F2003 GA. but like they say, we'll have to wait and see. hopefully McLaren's learnt from their past mistakes (reliability, etc) to produce a revolutionary car that will see them getting consistent wins. big up to Newey and the team for a car that hopefully performs as well as it looks. btw, the tifosi sure know how to make alotta noise for a team that's been silent for about 22 years or so." |
no no no |

First off, McLaren aren't crap, they are the the third top scoring team in F1 of all time behind Ferrari and Williams and ahead of Lotus and Brabham. Secondly,if the 2002 car can win races against ferrari, and from what i've heard this car is a substantual step forward then it will be competitive with ferrari which is what we all want. Anyway I don't think that the 2003 GA is that much better it's been beaten in the capable hands of Barrichello I think it's Michael Schumacher's dominance that needs to be conquered |
Mclaren will take the championship |
james 9-6-2003 |
"If you read through the comments you find ""alfahollick"". Great name by the way, the F2002 was an amazing car that broke boundaries in F1. The F2003 GA, i'm not so sure, its nothing to do with ferrari's luck it is that there new car isn't that much of a step further. In the last few races it has only won by very small margins and must we remember with mclaren's old car. When the mp4/18 is un veiled for its first race it will blow the competition and ferrari into submission. Raikkonen will win his first of many championships to come and shumacher will have to be happy with 5 titles." |
Wait and See |

We can't really tell, can we? So far everything is speculation. However, as a racing enthusiast, its real nice to see McLaren putting up a serious fight for the championship. Can't wait for its debut. |
meh..... |
Alfahollick 29-5-2003 |
It may have the most bhp/rpm, but the McLaren MP4/18 still has a lot to prove in reliability... McLaren began well in the championship due to Ferrari's bad luck, they don't stand a chance. McLaren's are crap! |
This is the bomb! |
GeaKana 28-5-2003 |
If reliability turns out at least as good as the MP4/17D this monster will kill everything on a fast track such as Monza,Indianapolis etc.Appart from the totally new & revolutionary aerodynamics it has the most powerful engine of the grid(930HP rumoured) at the highest rpm (19.700rpm)...& let's not forget that the rear eileron can b modified electronically in real time during a race 2 improve drag when needed....Norbert Haug said that there r 2 gearboxes made 4 this car,one more conventional & a revolutionary one with slight reliability problems but they both have the same shape & weight so that they can b exchanged if anything goes wrong....also ...the front spoiler as u can see in the pics is diff from all the other cars....it's shaped like an ocean wave specifically 4 the slow twisty tracks 2 improve the drag coefficient on medium speed curves when the air flows in diagonal on the car.... with all this said....if reliability is good this baby is the new F1 ruler. |
Can't be worse |
Yoke Peter 26-5-2003 |
In the case of the Williams their BMW engine was already the best on the track, but their chassis could not match it. With McLaren it is the other way around. The MP4/17 chassis is slightly better than the ferraris, but the engine does not have the power or reliability to match it. Hopefully this car will be able to improve on an already excellent chassis and provide an engine to do it justice. |
Too Soon |
Shing 25-5-2003 |
I wouldn't speak so soon. The MP4/18 does look very aggresive and is rumoured to have revolutionary electronics but don't forget that it is a totally new car...and totally new cars need a lot of development. Also, the F2003-GA is also still very early in it's development. I'd say Ferrari will still have the edge. |
ferrari has nothing to fear |
dipub21 25-5-2003 |
even if this car has shown a lot of hope, i feel it wont be that good. mclaren have done good this season owing to ferrari's ill luck. and besides, the f2003 GA has not shown what it is capable of completely. remember, it went .6 sec faster than the f2002, that too in a very short foirano circuit. so u can know what to expect at monza and hockeheim! also, the ferrari has shown to be quite reliable, though this may be an early opinion. mclaren are not famous for their reliability. and the tests at paul richard haven't shown any significant improvement in performance from this new mclaren. but what will actualy happen is a question i let future handle. |
go Go GO McLaren |
TVR 25-5-2003 |
This is the car thats going to beat Ferrari and win the 2003 championship for McLaren it is defiantly a totally different car to the old McLaren and I bet its a whole lot quicker. |
Bad Benz Boy-sour grapes? |
Ferrari kick ass 24-5-2003 |
its very amusing to hear you say that it is the best car before even seeing it perform. Maybe you said that even for last year`s McLaren Car, which was excellent for puffing smoke out of its engine, and the year before, when you were looking at Shumacher and watching him win, and before, as you did the year before as well. Ferrari won last 4 years` Constructors` Titles, and will win this year as well. Last week, at Austria, Shumacher and barrichello lost 20 seconds each at the pits but still went on the podiuim...its a hell of a car.Last year, all records were broken, they got 221 points and McLaren just got some 60 points....so its a bit funny of how optimistic you are of this car before even seeing it.....very funny. |
The Prancing horse's Slayer |

This Mclaren looks awsome, and with the 'old' car that they used in the first half of the season being so quick this new car with the extra development time will help McLaren regain their title. New chassis, new aerodynamics, new engine, new champions |
Current F1 Standings |
ferrarif50 23-5-2003 |
With McLaren already doing very well against all, including the new Ferrari (F2003GA), this car should do even better. However, there is the chance that this car will be worse than the old. An example is the Willams/BMW FW25. The Williams has hardly lived up to any expectations. |
holy benz |
Bad-Ass-Benz 22-5-2003 |
Finally Ferrari days are over, and Schumacher will have to chase Kimi till the end of the champioship, just as he did back in 98 and 99 with Hakkinen. Good luck Ferrari...you'll need it! |
WOW!!! |
Ozzhedian 22-5-2003 |
A total thing of beauty. I hope it goes as well as it looks. No scratch that. I know it will go as well as it looks. F2003-GA fears MP4/18 |
