Attractive??? |

I agree to warren13's point of the Marilyn Concept not looking as good as it could, or should. The Monaro, on which it is based, has styling cues reminiscent of the VT Commodore, sold betwen '97 and '00. Many would actually agree that the Astra convertible looks better than the Marilyn. What the designers should have done, was to use the HSV Coupe 4 bodykit and lights (front/rear) to give the Marilyn more presence. As it is, the Marilyn is a major disaapointment, especially for Monaro owners. |
Not Special Enough |

I think it's a shame that econmies of scale have always meant convertibles have always been outside the reach of the mainstream here in Australia but this car was never going to change that. The price of the closed Monaro indicates that even if this had gone into production, it would have been prohibitively expensive and it just looks a bit...dull. It's a Commodore convertible and while that is an idea that appeals to me, I don't see two less doors and the sun on my bald spot justifying double the price of the entry level sedan. |
Not a pretty convertable |

"I think this is a good concept but the ""New Monaro"" has never been a stylish looker, the Americans were not inspired by the rebadged GTOs looks for example, and similarly the convertible is nowhere near as a classic as it's nameplate. This might prove to be towards the right direction for Holdens future, but the Monaro of today looks just that little bit uninspiring and I don't think it would fit with the convertible image." |
