I expected a lot more from this 2010 update, considering all the talk it generated on the past months...
 maybe...

Hi acfsambo. Perhaps you're right but they do say sequential starting from the inside. Thats the way the old signals worked...the inner most bulb lit first followed by the next, working out to the end. They look great so I hope Ford does bring them back regardless of there release writer. I've actually converted one of our old 78 Mercury Marquis to the same effect. Of course today we can use tiny little electronic controls where as the old T-Birds had mechanical contraptions in the trunk to do the same thing. I do remember the 3 seperate tailight lenses on the old Mustangs in particular the original Mustang II show car. Very cool looking. At the moment I'm just happy to see that Ford is probably in the best shape of the Big 3 because it doesn't look likely that they'll get any help from Congress.

gandinifan, when they say sequential tail lights, i think they are talking about that there are 3 separate lights in 3 separate housings, rather than 3 lights in the same housing, Which the original mustangs had.
 C'mon Ford...

I'm not sure about the new design yet but who ever did the press release needs a slight education. The sequential tail lights NEVER appeared on any regular production Mustangs, 60s, 70s, 80s... they were a great styling feature that Thunderbirds had, in particular the 65, 66 & later models. I believe the early Mercury Cougars may have had them and perhaps the 67/68 Shelby Mustangs as they used the 65 T-Bird tailights.
