There's A Problem |
EvolutionWRC811 09-03-2006 |
Maybe it is the gear setting to the wrong amount of torque because the Evo IV should be even faster than the Evo VIII. The reason why? the Evo VIII is nearly 3300lbs. and does 0-60 in 4.7s and barely have more torque. So yeah, it could be the gear setting, the differential or something, or otherwise, this car has a problem. |

the 4 gained only 9 bhp and a bit more torque but gained 200lbs(100kg) which must have cancelled out the slight power difference. I am sure you wouldnt even notice the difference when driving it though. As a plus point for the evo 4 onwards were slightly easier to live with day-day than the rawer II and III, due to different suspension and a bit more weight. |

How strange.. you bump up horsepower from 266 bhp to 280, and the 0-60 time grows by .6 second? I know it gained about 100 pounds in the transition, but still, it shouldn't have been such a dramatic fall. Perhaps the gearing was different, focusing more on the top end? But that can't be the case, for the it still has the same top speed, limited at 111.8 mph. You don't make the gearing higher but keep the limiter. |
