This XK is getting dangerously close to GT car perfection. |
Probably the Car will Grow on Me.... |

but the sole colour scheme never will... When will car stylists realise one colour scheme NEVER suits all? |
come to think of it.. |

... I'd pay off my first mortgage instead! |
The Taurus Coupe... |

I'd not mistake it for anything other than a second-generation Taurus. If I were somehow to come into possession of one, I'd trade it right in on a Vantage.... Well, actually, I'd trade it for a new MX-5 or used S2000 and pay off my second mortgage... |
Front of the new jaguar is a little bit bland for me |

I started off many years ago with a mk4 and was impressed with its top speed but was terrified with its mechanical brakes that would not stop the car but that did not deter me I then had two mk5 then a mk 7after that three XK120 including one that had little chrome side lights on top of the front guards.one of the very first made. Then came the six cylinder E types all 3 of them with low oil pressure had to keep fixing big ends and lost the top of a piston on another. After that the E types V12 as they get older and need piston rings you cant get the heads off the block but I admired their shape most of all and the mark 10/420g- also had big end trouble. So how does the appearance of the new XKR 75 stack up against its compeditors? The front of the car while probably very functional does not appeal sporty enough like the Lotus exige. It must be hard for the engineers to come up with something different to look like a rip snorting rootin brute like those of the past. If it were coming towards you on the road it could be mistaken for one of any ten other brands, flamin Japanese copy everything sporty. With enhansed performance Top Gear and myself should really love it. I hope it makes its mark as highly collectable like a lot of the ones in the past. Why did I love the old Jags? simply I could fix the mechanicals myself in a couple of days. Roy. |
