The annual Monterey automobile week attracts a large number of like-minded enthusiasts. This makes the week as much a social gathering as it is an automotive one. The McCall Motorworks Revival, hosted by Gordon McCall at the Monterey Jet Center perfectly combines the social and automobile aspects. Traditionally held on Wednesday evening, it is also the de facto kick-off for the busy weekend that includes the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the Monterey Motorsports Reunion and The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, as well as all the auctions. The McCall Motorworks Revival affords the visitors some time to catch up with old friends, surrounded by fantastic cars, planes and bikes, while enjoying some of the areas finest food and drinks. We did much the same but also brought our cameras to capture some of the highlights in this 60-shot gallery.

Filling the tarmac and two of the hangars of the Monterey Jet Center were a fine selection of exhibitors, ranging from supercar manufacturers and aircraft builders to watch companies. Among them were European niche manufacturers Koenigsegg and Pagani, who showed their latest creations. Also on hand were Italian companies Alfa Romeo and Maserati, and their British rival McLaren. Another regular that returned to the 2015 McCall Motorworks Revival was Porsche enhancer Singer. They brought a pair of their remarkable machines. Ahead of the opening of the completely redesigned museum later in the year, the Petersen Collection provided a sneak peak of a new display with an all-new Ford GT and two GT40s from the 1960s.

Considering the nature of the Monterey week, it was no surprise that classic road and racing cars were also prominently featured. Our eye was particularly captured by the Porsche 908/02 Spyder that would later in the week appear at The Quail. The event also featured a stunning line-up of Meyers Manx beach buggies. Of a slightly newer vintage was one of the very rare Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR road cars. The McCall Motorworks Revival also served as the finish of The Quail Rally, which had started a day earlier at the Quail Lodge and included a very diverse array of machines ranging from a rare Ferrari 250 GT Lusso Competizione to W.O. era and brand new Bentleys.

The privilege of visiting the McCall Motorworks Revival does not come cheaply but Gordon McCall treats his guests well with a spectacular display and complimentary food and drinks to match. The McCall Motorworks Revival remains one of the highlights of the Monterey Automobile Week.
