Deutsche Bank Building NYC

Quote:
On Saturday afternoon, in a fire in the Deutsche Bank tower at ground zero, two men with more than 30 years’ experience between them became the 15th and 16th from the firehouse to die in the line of duty since 1994.
The fire spread out of control as hundreds of firefighters tried and failed to pump water up a malfunctioning standpipe, instead flooding the basement, the Fire Department said. As smoke floated again over Lower Manhattan, firefighters were left to haul hoses up the sides of the ghostly black building, which was damaged on Sept. 11, 2001, and was finally being demolished.

I was there when it happened this weekend, my hotel was only a few blocks away.... At first I thought it was no biggie, lots of FDNY Trucks and NYPD Cars all over the place, but it seemed like something controllable.. Next morning I read on the news that two firefighters had lost their lives. They were both from the same Sub-Station that lost 11 men on 9/11... Hate to see this happening, they placed their lives on the line to ensure public safety.
My condolences to their families & friends.
