I don't understand why the transaxle is such a hurdle, there has been one on every Vet since 1997.
I don't have any problems with a mid engine Vet. The mid engine concepts of the late 60s lead me to believe things would have gone that way if the energy crisis had not killed performance in the American automotive industry 35 years ago.
