The big issue the panel had w/ the conehead was that the angle of the cones was set in stone a long time ago - while he's done a lot of research into it it might pay to sort of vary the cone depending on the application.
I've no doubt it could save lives - I just think it's a little more specialised to create a liner than to create a whole linkage system.
Who knows - Stackhats might just end up being safer
