In no particular order.
-The Ferrari Colombo V12, the original Ferrari engine. This is perhaps the greatest engine ever made. Any of the variants will do, from the earliest 1.5-litre to the last 4.9-litre units. But if I had to pick one it would probably be the classic 2953cc with 6 twin Webers. Great sound, great performance, heritage, racing pedigree. It has everything.
-The Porsche flat-six engine. It did last 35 years with solutions like air cooling and 2 valves per cylinder. Great sound and maybe the most successful racing engine ever. A legend which will be forever be united to that other legend.
-The AMG fettled M113 Mercedes-Benz V8. It might not have the history and pedigree of the other two but it just the charisma. Massively powerful in supercharged form and a fabulous soundtrack.

Love the first two, not the last. Without a supercharger the SOHC three valve M113 feels surprisingly gutless for a V8.
