There are also casual drivers who don't give a damn about the car being automatic or manual, as long as they can go from point A to point B. Not everyone is a car enthusiast. It doesn't mean that they can't drive or that they are pussies either. They just don't care.

Personally I prefer to drive manual in general, in particular for spirited driving (who doesn't), but when I'm just going to my friend's places where the speed limit is either 30 or 50 km/h, manual shifting gets very boring. 1-2-1-2-1-2-1, a zillion stop signs... I'm lazy, automatic ftw in this case.
