For supercar money if I had to buy domestic (which I wouldn't) then my money is on the new C6 Corvette Z06 with a 500 HP V-8...I thought about the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve but realize that most of the parts are from the Daimler arm of the merger and not really domestic to begin with...

there are to many hiting the bock right now for me to give you mine but
he it is
my vote would have to go to
the ford gt an mustang(note im not that big on fords except for the gt-gt40)
my vote is because of this,
the retro style is very nice for the mustang although the interior of the red covert concept car was what i fell in love with the production car is ok
the gt come on what needs to be said about this car best bang for the buck for a supersport car.

Definitely the new Ford GT. It has nearly identical performance specs as the saleen s7 for a fraction of the price.

s7: 0-60mph- 3.3 seconds
top speed- about 200 mph
1/4 mile- 10.9 seconds
skidpad- .99 g
price- $395,000

GT: 0-60- 3.3 seconds
top speed- around 200
1/4 mile- 10.6 seconds
skidpad- .98 g
price- $139,000

enough said.

Nearly any american muscle car....ford are the stand outs though.....
The GT40 is my faveorite car done what it was built to do....i think the new mustang has lots of potential...i cant wait to see a cobra model and that GT-R was an interesting concept....

IF the C6 Z06 does materialize with the 500 HP motor and the aircraft aluminum hydro-formed frame at 2800+ lbs and a fifties - sixties price, YOU GOT IT!

Otherwise, the Ford GT at $150,000 is THE American super car. Oh yeah, the S7 is still there at twice or more the money.
