Kind of feels like high-street stores who try to clear stocks with huge discounts at zero profit just to get some cash flow.....
They're needing to put one of these up on all those sites ![]() ![]() ( if you've no sense of humour , PLEASE dont' reply to this post, just ignore it, move on please )

The sad truth is people are getting about the same deal they would have before the promotion. I saw a report that showed the prices people were paying were no better then pre-sale. The key difference is these prices are flat, as in no back and forth, just a pay the price listed. I think it is a reminder that many new car buyers would prefer to get their cars with going back and forth to come to a price.
For GM this has been a great thing and they ended the promotion to do what they claim is a lack of inventory. The downside to all of this may happen over the next 12 months. Buyers who would have been around have bought cars now. This could mean a big dip in sales over the next 12 months. Another issue is buyers may demand lower prices all the time. Meanwhile Toyota & Honda, among other brands have stayed away from all this. Honda has always kept solid sales without crazy sales or giant rebates like GM, Ford, and Chrysler are doing. Honda & Toyota know their quality keeps customers coming in and they are willing to pay higher prices. If Ford and GM wish to be around 25 years now, they better start making better cars now. I am not saying what they make is awful, they have come a long ways, but they still do not Toyota or Honda quality on all their models. I have owned Fords, my parents own GM cars, and now I drive a Honda. I looked at 4 door sedans in the 12-18 thousand dollar range and the 2005 Civic I bought felt far better then what GM and Ford had to offer. Right now it is expect Toyota will replace GM as the largest car builder in the world by 2010. This was done without buying other manufactures. I am hoping Ford and GM do come through. |
