2003-2004 Ford Crown Victoria/Mercury Grand Marquis, 239 hp (178 kW) and 282 lb·ft (382 N·m) with dual exhaust option
2004-present Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, 250 hp (186 kW) and 287 lb·ft (389 N·m)

So what was that about a 03 to current specs? they changed midway through 04 and are still 115 hp short from your claim which according to your claim tops the 1999/2001 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra, 320 hp (239 kW) and 317 lb·ft (430 N·m) which has double damn near everything incorperated into the engine breathing and is only 15hp shy of this 2003-2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra, Supercharged, 390 hp (291 kW) and 390 lb·ft (529 N·m) which is a supercharged version of the quad cam motor

So the factorys against you enthusiests are against you and the fact you made a rather absurd claim is against you is that your final answer or are you going to try and push the issue?

ok to qaush the arguments pertaining to the current police vehicles on the roads here is a link to the sales document that the departments recieve.
https://www.fleet.ford.com/downloads...ceIntercep.pdf
now as you can tell that is the base model but most departments including my own have numerous upgrades including 375 hp superstock engines.(currently 10 in the fleet) which we employ in highspeed chases. not only that but about a quarter of our current fleet are also dodge chargers (ss model) that have been upgraded with multiple packages including a supercharger that increases the output to about 390hp. unfortunately i am not at liberty to discuss wat those *special* upgrades are but ill leave it to you guys to guess

oh and forgot to add we have 2 mustang supersports for *special* circumstances...(not to brag or anything) :P:P

Falcon, I've never understood why your sig celebrates a deliberate lowering of power to weight ratio.

I love how Ford suggests that a live rear axle is superior to independent suspension.

your saving up 200,000? surely you mean 20k?

P4g4nite Nothing wrong with increasing my OWN power to weight and theres plenty of people who weigh more who are preforming quite well ie steven johnson.

And wouter it can be argued that its more robust but still their wording is quote off lol

If you were around the US in the early '70s you would have seen Ford extolling the virtues of "road hugging weight" while comparing their Pinto to the Toyota Corolla and VW Beetle. Of course, you could have bought a Pinto for $1995 back then too.

Ford's Pinto Memo

Ford Pinto - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The carollas the only one you mentioned that didnt have a bad habit of catching fire there

But to the pintos defence unlike the beetle it didnt catch fire for seemingly almost no reason (battery used to short out)

The Pinto issue was far more about failure of PR than failure of design trade offs.

PointofLaw | articles: The Myth of the Ford Pinto Case

The quoted link talks claims to talk about the Pinto. However, this link makes some strong arguments that the memo was not about the Pinto at all.

This is the only summary of the Rutgers Law Review article I've been able to find.

Now that I have access to a law library I'm going to have to look up the article in question.
