C7 Corvette Mid-Engined?

I'm skeptical, to say the least. But that's just my nature. But the whole thing really interests me. GM taking Le Mans overall? That would be fantastic. Maybe even enough to gets Le Mans on tv over here
And don't laugh... it's happened before with the GT40.

Before they even started thinking about this I assume they did numerous surveys/questionnaires to see if the core corvette buyer would even consider a mid-engined version. The idea of it being just a variant of the corvette sounds good instead of diving right into this with the C7 as only mid-engined.

yeah it makes no sense cause its a corvette u kno it has to be that way and its a great car for a front engine so. they could make a new model!

I don't understand why the transaxle is such a hurdle, there has been one on every Vet since 1997.
I don't have any problems with a mid engine Vet. The mid engine concepts of the late 60s lead me to believe things would have gone that way if the energy crisis had not killed performance in the American automotive industry 35 years ago. |

Okay, sounds like they want to build it to the 2010 ACO LMP1 regs in mind, but the regs aren't final yet, and they're drawing a lot of complaints from the teams...

well the fanboys keep telling me the Z06 already has 50/50 wieght distribution, and that it's already mid engiend because the engine is behind the front axle, so what's the point...
