Revitalization in Action

I've been following this for some time now and I thought I'd share it with you guys. Basically it is these two guys take on how GM should revitalize their fleet. They cover everything from exterior styling, to interiors, engines, transmissions, and even MSRP's.

GMI Presents: Revitalization in Action: The Dream General Motors Lineup

I must say that the Chevelle and Corvette images are pretty extravagant.

Please Note: These are not real General Motors concept cars. Except for the Camaro.

I thought that the Chevelle was pretty cool looking, but not much like the original at all; I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing (I personally am not big on Chevelles so the change was fine to me). The rest of the designs were mostly shit - the Corvette was disgusting - the only other OK one was the Malibu.

Too bad they haven't finished the Cadillac section yet - I really wanted to see what they had in mind for Caddy.

Rehash

Is it just me or does it seem like the American car industry is trying to relive the glory days of the muscle car just a little too much? Chrysler brings back the Charger/Challenger, Ford retrostyles the Mustang, GM brings back the Camaro and now all of this. While I don't disagree that the Camaro and Charger where great additions to the industy, I just don't know that there is enough of a market out there for more muscle revival.

The Chevelle looks like a restyled Volt concept. Nothing too crazy.

I really think GM should stop sharing so many platforms. Two or three cars is okay, but sometimes extending it to five really makes it redundant. Who wants five versions of the same car?

They're working on it, so I guess there is progress.

Thing is, they have nothing to work on. They don't have a new styling concept, so they're just milking the muscle car days to survive their slump.

Not exactly a bad thing, it just gets boring after a while. At least GM is now improving Pontiac, with the G8. That's about the most interesting thing GM is making, other than the Corvette.

If the Volt can be sold for < 26k as suggested GM can save the world..... and its self.

The C7 made me cringe.

I have to agree whole-heartedly there. The G8 is a great step forward. I would have to say that the Cadillac CTS was a definite shot of adrenaline to the heart of GM too. Now if they could just reverse the cranial-rectal inversion they seem to have, GM might.....might just make a comeback.

This site would only suck less if they didn't mis-spell on nearly every description.

However, the Saab set up? madness.

Arkansas, Conway, not so bad, really.
To quote Waylon Jennings, I'll believe it when I see it, and I haven't seen it yet.
