Corvette ZR1

The new ZR1 looks sweet! anyone agree? its got a supercharged LS9 in it boasting 600hp! Its brakes are exactly like an Enzo, plus you get a whole lot more for only $100,000! Thats a supercar, for a somewhat affordable price! I'll get mine in black please.

There's like 3 ZR-1 threads already on this forum's first page. You couldn't have posted in those?

I'm not one to rag on the C6 interior because I actually think the materials and fit and finish are a lot better than many people give credit. However, I do so, so wish they did something with the steering wheel's air bag cover. The rest of the wheel is fine but the airbag cover is the one part, really the one part of the interior I think looks really low buck relative to the rest.

The rest of the car looks to be very cool and I will be eager to hear if this is like a Z06 with yet more power or if the magnetic dampers and all the other upgrades really bring the car to a new level.

BTW, I'm sure it will piss off some people (not referring to any members of this forum who are a generally intelligent group) when I say, I'm happy to see they are still using the leaf instead of coils for the suspension and wood in the floor boards. I love unconventional solutions that end up being simple and work very well!

You'd like Morgans...

I do like Morgans! However, the Corvette's balsa cored flooring is actually a really good solution to a problem. It seems low tech but it isn't. Consider that most cars will have only sheet steel as a floor board. The Corvette is using a composite honeycomb panel. The honeycomb material just happens to be wood.

The Morgans I like for all the wrong reasons! Of course the use of wood in their construction is one of those wrong reasons.
