You can't argue with preference. Performance obviously doesn't matter to some. If performance and quality mattered to people most American manufacturers would be bankrupt by now.

There is not a doubt in my mind that the Corvette is a better car performance wise. I just think that the Challenger has potential because it probably has a nice big empty engine bay like most Dodges do which is good for engine mods. It looks manly, and it has a legendary name... I think Chrysler is going to make tonnes of money off of these cars because a lot of people who buy cars don't know squat about them and are blown away with useless figures and features which most will never use. 400 HP really isn't that much when you remember that the car weighs 4100lbs but when people hear numbers like 400 they'll immediately think low tier Ferrari performance.

It probably isn't much of a sports car but it's a very good business move.

The car is going to do well and people will buy it. I have no doubts about it.

Check out this video of NASCAR drivers Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne and Bobby LaBonte driving 6 speed Challenger test mules. They seem pretty impressed with its performance.

Seems to me the "Dodge boys" woudl say whatever their paymasters told them to
If this takes in most of the target audience then I agree on "no doubts"
PT Barnum taught 'em well

Ppl who have nothing but bad things to say about the upcoming Challenger are the ones who never had any intention of considering the purchase of one to begin with. I think it was a mistake to make the car so damn heavy, but the ppl who will buy one won't care. This is a car that will be sold on looks alone.....which has been done many times before in the auto industry.

I really thought Chrysler would be able to get the weight down at least to the 3800-3900 lb range. Oh well. At least it will look damn sexy rolling down the street.

Its better than the 4 door charger they are trying to sell.
But 4100lbs is boat weight, like a chrysler 300 in 1970.
Yes I agree its a nice looking package.

I havent heard much about the new camaro lately, is GM still planning on building it?
