American Family Association of Ford Ends

The AFA has stopped it's boycott of Ford - started dude to Ford donating money to homosexual causes and advertising in homosexual themed magazines.

You left out the key word, boycott.

But yeah, it seems that conservatism wins again. Another 2 steps back!

This isn't necessarily a win for conservatism. They're claiming a victory, but it's a load of hot air. I don't have much to say on the subject, but an alternative viewpoint is worth presenting here.

From Autoblog:

In reality, Ford has done nothing to appease the AFA. It continues to offer benefits to same-sex couples and the only reason it has reduced or stopped advertising in gay pubs is because mounting losses in the U.S. have shrunk its marketing budget. The same goes for charitable donations to gay-related causes, there's just no money to spare during these hard times at Ford. The AFA even acknowledges that Ford has not really met its conditions, saying, "A few minor issues remain, and we will continue to bring these to the attention of Ford."

The AFA is taking credit for something it had nothing to do with and putting words in the Dearborn company's mouth, kind of like when the organization claimed that its boycott was the reason for Ford's sales slump in recent years. Yeah, it wouldn't have anything to do with a lineup that was overflowing with trucks and SUVs, increased competition from Japan, the high cost of health care, or any one of a hundred actually valid reasons.

Exactly. Ford haven't done anything to appease these people.

The AFA are just blowing smoke.

This shows me that the AFA MEANS BUSINESS and that they ARE IMPORTANT and when they take action THINGS GET DONE!

Had enough, Ford?

Next they should take the fight to the Voting register, can you believe the gheys can vote?? What is this, Canada? Not on my watch!

Ford has many other much more important issues than care about this.

If they go to the wall it certainly won't be for that.

lol. Good call. Their boycott wasn't having any real effect, so they look at the sales slump as a way out, declare victory, then walk home quickly before anyone else can say anything. Sad when you try to boycott a company that's in a huge sales slump anyway, and yet it still has no effect. For once, hypocrisy did not win.
