40-70 mph

Here is a video of my '69 Cadillac going from 40-70 mph. Actually slightly over 40 mph; it's kind of hard to steer, accelerate and hold a camera at the same time. This was done on a local street.
Next I plan to post a 60-90 mph or 60-100 mph on the freeway (depending on traffic).

I think you ought to either buy/fabricate some kind of mount for the camera or get a friend to do the filming. It really isn't wise to be driving whilst trying to film something.

Yeah, I did think of both. Some kind of camera mount would be nice.

Wouldn't the glue stick to the camera when you try to take the tape off?

Yeah, it really surprised my brother when he first drove my parent's '69 Coupe de Ville. He said you don't really feel it accelerating because of its smoothness, but you can see the speedo needle moving to the right at a good rate. Stay tuned for my 60-90 mph or 60-100 mph test which I may do later today. That should look good on video.

It was at just over 1/4 of a tank at the time of the video. This car gets 9-13 mpg, with an average of around 11.5 mpg. I would measure it more often but it is usually weeks between refills 'cause I only drive it once or twice a week and usually locally.

Only if you hold the camera for me.

No, I don't plan to; certainly not on the street. It would be going about 85-90 mph at the end of a 1/4 mile... I don't really want to take it that high on the street. I do plan to do a standing start run (with some rubber burning, of course, at the beginning) up to about 70 or so.

And the nearest track to run a 1/4 mile is about 40 miles away.

I shoulda filmed the 130-200kph I did whilst on the nullabor... but I was too busy making sure there was no one coming the other way...

Turns out a heavily laden Volvo 850R hits 210 before the acceleration slows down...

40-60 mph looks like about 4.0 seconds. I think that is a very acceptable time.
