Man sues Ford for making too many Roush Stage 3 BlackJack Mustangs

Long story made short: Ford says they're only making a limited run of 100 cars, man buys one, Ford then says they will make more, Man now says his resale value will be less and calls his lawyer, lawyer sues Ford for $11.8 million!!!!!!!!!

They only built 100 examples of the 2007 model right? It would not surprise me if that is how the limited edition was described in the brochures.

Didn't Ferrari face similar angry customers with the extended run of F40s?

Wow. Supply and demand. It's as simple as that. If you decide to complain about it, then don't buy the car in the first place. It's your fault you decided to buy the car. What a bunch of whiners.

Americans are whiny by trade. If we thought we could have gotten away with it it the fore fathers would have sued England for independence. We are a litigious nation. Come on though, how did this guy not realize that Ford was going to make more Mustangs, does he know NOTHING about the Mustang?

And doesn't this just prove he was only trying to buy the car for it's collect ability which makes him lame in the first place?

There are a few problems with this:

1. There are still only 200 cars. It'll drop, but not by much.

2. It's a goddamn Ford Mustang, not a Ferrari GTO.

You'd think the extraordinary number of special edition Mustangs would make all the special edition Mustangs a little more worthless.

All special editions are rare, but some are rare-r than others.

Yeah but just from the overview of the story this is probably the type of guy who wears Ford Racing shirts and sunglasses and stands close to the urinal (As JC once said) and probably told anyone who listened after he bought, "Yes, it's one of 100, that's right 100 total cars, this is rare! Very very rare!" and then one day some guy in the bar overheard him while he was scamming all the younger girls and said "Well actually, they are making another 100, so yours is one of 200." and then he flipped out and sued.

I think this guy suing is right: a limited numbered edition means a limited numbered edition.

I think he has a right to sue for whatever monetary gain he may have gotten from a more limited edition. Say 2-10k TOPS.

Besides, what limited edition car appreciates instantly? You gotta wait a couple years first. And considering the rate at which Fords depreciate, I'm pretty sure this guy is losing more money than gaining so far. Way to get ahead in life!
