If you ever get the chance to see an American Le Mans Series race then you better go just to hear the Panoz LMP race car. Loudest, coolest sounding car ever!!! I'll be going to Mid-Ohio next month for the ALMS race.

I have both midtown madnesses, really good racer at both, but now I don't play them much. I make cars for mm2 though, haven't released any though.

Panoz is a great company, awesome cars, especially the AIV roadster, I fell in love with that and the Esperante, though more the Roadster.

Yes, I have all 3 Midtown Madness games (the 3rd doesn't feature any Panoz though) and Project Gotham Racing features the Esperante.

I also go every year up to Elkart Lake for the Road America Le Mans race. Panoz is always my favourite.

Only seen one in person, the AIV roadster. Very nice build quality from what I could see, and an incredible exhaust note to go with it.

Panoz builds cars in North Georgia. I live on an island off the Georgia coast. I've seen their stuff at Road Atlanta. Their road car (coupe whatever) is a $90,000 failure to best the stock Corvette C5 coupe.

If you're only playing computer games, you waste my time. If you really want to buy a car, check the specs. The C5 eats the Panoz for close to half the price.

The first pic you posted is actually a 1995 Rinspeed Roadster SC-R Concept. Rinspeed is a European company that takes a car and then customizes it to the extreme.

Well the first Panoz Roadsters appeared in 1990, 7 years before the Prowler came out.

Panoz is a great brand, founded by Don, not George

Quote:
Founded by George Panoz in 1989
Don Panoz is the guy who funded the company with his son Danny Panoz as the head. The Panoz empire was built on Dr.Don Panoz nicotine patch he invented as well as other products.

The Panoz family owns IMSA/American Le Mans racing series, 5 luxury resorts, their own wine label, and other assets. Elan Motorsports is a racing enginering company that Panoz owns. They built some of the chassis that won the Indy 500 as well as other major races.

Panoz Auto Development is a passion of Danny Panoz. I have had the pleasure of meeting Danny and spending time with him. He is a true car guy and a love for life.

When Danny decided on the goals for the Esperante, he wanted it to be a solid touring sports car. He wanted a car that could be a daily driver. I enjoyed riding around in a Esperante GTLM JRD Edition. There is a guy in California who has a polished, unpainted Esperante. It is very cool.

JRD Tuning is kind of the AMG of the Panoz world.

As you can tell from my icon, I was able to see the Panoz GTR. There is only one street legal version of this car. Danny says he has something in the works they may excite fans of the GTR, but we will not see the results until 2006 or 2007.

Looking at the Panoz cars, AIV and Esperante, I would say they are perfect cars for those looking for something not everyone has and who love classic sports cars. There are others cars on the market for less money that deliver better performance numbers, but Panoz cars are not about being the fastest, at least not their main street legal cars. Their cars are fun and have real character. It is amazing to get classic European style of cars from a manufacture in Georgia.
