I found this pic a few months back and saved it with the intention of figuring out what it was and when i was doing a clean up I found it again. The only thing i can say about it is im dead certain its a jap car

Looks kinda like a '70s Mazda Capella (Rotary), but it doesn't have the side mirrors placed out on the fenders...
It might also be an early (looks like 1st or 2nd generation) Toyota Corolla...

Well after talking to my old man (who didnt think it was jap at first) suggested it was somthing that didnt reach austrlias shores and more then likely wasnt common even in japan.

I think it (maybe) is a KPGC110 Skyline GTR. It was the last Skyline GTR until the R32, and was made around 1973. Have you got any other pics?

it might be a toyota 2000gt but i think they sit a fair bit lower, im pretty sure its not the skyline though, they looked alot more like a sedan

Well thats possiblebut i lookedat some old photos of the skylines and they had mirrors on the front 1/4s but of course the car has been modified look at the stering wheel on it and i wouldent mind wagering thats not the origonal paint job or wheels.

no, theres no way its a 2000gt.
im pretty sure its a toyota tho.
my guess is first gen celica.

Kenny's right. There is zero chance of that being a 2000 gt. The model skyline I suggested has a rear that looks like the early celicas (and this car), which is why I suggested it. Also the wheel arches and lines near the back are very close.
Having said that, I accept I am probably wrong anyway, just wanted to have a helpful guess.

I'm getting more and more sure that it's a modified Mazda Capella, though I'm probably wrong too. It's most likely some unknown that none of us have ever heard of :)

Actually, I think its an RX-3. That might be the same thing as the Capella, but I saw a picture of an RX-3 Drag Racer and the body shape was identical to that one.

Wellthat is very possible i rember talking to a bloke a ratary fan and he told his little pos wagonwas almost exactly the samecar as the rx-3 rotarie other then grill and the 1200cc rotarie engie so that could be very likely.

I looked at the KPGC110 and i'm pritty sure ur right there. the only thing i saw that was different was the rear veiw mirrors but other than that the body looks identical... nice work

yeah summernats would have been crawling with RX3's, a teacher at my school i think has one but hes spent about $30K on it over the years, making the engine stronger, beefing up the suspension and brakes. he wont sell it cause he knows in the hands of someone else it wont last a week. hes been seen doing 4 wheel drifts in it coming to school

yeah he is pretty cool, hes my electronics teacher, but he can be a bit hard to get along with cause of his morals about cars, like he wont own an AWD, wont own a turbo, wont own a ferrari, probably wont own a ford (hes a holden man) he was one of those guys that really had a whinge about skaife at bathurst and could come to grips with the same thing happened to FPR and sandown and they got a $10K fine for it

Thanks eyebrows, I just hope I solved the mystery.
People like your teacher are weird don't you think FPV? If a manufacturer releases a good car then people should look at the car based on merit, not whether they are a "so and so" man. I personally think Holden makes crap cars, and therefore do not like them, but if they brought the VX220 turbo over here I would happily buy it, as it is a good set of wheels.
