We need to start wrapping things up so that we can get to the next project, which will be incredibly sweet.
Start posting some finalized prices on here. You know the name of the game as far as the project goes, so lets get it all "on paper" :)

I'm looking at getting this this finished above all. We've got to hussle so that we can get on with the next challenge :) - it will be a lot more creative and a hell of a lot more fun :D
Can't wait, but we've got to wrap this one up. i think everyone would like to see it finished as soon as possible, even if we have to make a few time-saving estimations at this point. :)

I think if you make it a 4WD, it will have more grip on the handling, try using a Mitsubishi engine, a lot of horsepowers doesn't mean that it'll be greater. I don't recommend relying on Corvette engine because it will make a car slip too much. A V6 with 300-350 horses is good enough if the car doesn't exceed 1500 kg. For interior, look for Sparco or Momo stuffs. For brakes, I recommend Brembo. For suspension, try HKS or Apex. Anyway, these are just some trustable brands, I have no idea about the price of these, but I'm sure they're averagely priced and performs well, just as they did to the Evolution 8 FQ-400.

Can we have some after-dinner mints sitting on the seats? I love those little mints? We could get them for free by stealing them from a Motel...

Guys it isnt the place for suggestions anymore remember :p
How much can we spend on the gearbox? Thatll depend if we can use a new 6 speed Getrag ($16K) or a rebuilt Porsche G50 5 speed (considerably less, i think arond $7k)
I found a clutch that can handle 685hp for $AUD895 though

I believe we have a fanboyposing as a European car lover
4WD-to expensive, too big, to difficult to manipulate around body, interior, etc...
A lot of horsepower CAN mean greater, depending on how the rest of the car is set up.
Corvette engines making the car slip too much? The engine doesn't determine how the cars handling is, the tyres and supension do.
Sparco and Momo aren't the only lightweight material companies out there, much of their stuff is overpriced
So are HKS and Apex.
And the Evolution VIII is a compact rallying car. This is a high performance supercar. What might work for one car may not be right for another.

The LS1 is a good all around engine capable of making the power requiered naturally aspirated while remaining reliable, and can be purchased in crate form just like we need it. Also, the LS1 is used world wide, so parts are not an issue, and are much less expensive overall.
It's a light aluminum engine capable of making big power on head work and a cam swap. It is an engine with a history of reliable performance with off the shelf modibility for pocket change compared to the competition.

This thread is for posting the final costs only. Please argue about arbitrary nonesense elsewhere. thank you to everyone who has posted real stuff so far. That looks like a fairly good deal for the engine. Let's take it. I'll add 2 grand on for all of the needed acessories.
