"Duesenberg TorpedoŽ Coupe
A new Duesenberg luxury automobile to bring the United States back into the top segment of the World automotive marketplace - the Duesenberg TorpedoŽ Coupe. It is now being designed by famed California automobile designer Jeff Teague, of Teague Design Inc. (teaguedesigninc@earthlink.net), with a planned market introduction in January, 2007. The Duesenberg TorpedoŽ Coupe will offer the ultimate luxury motoring for four passengers, along with a unique blend of automotive innovation and the finest comfort features.

The TorpedoŽ Coupe will be driven by a revolutionary new power plant, the CEM engine now in final development by E.P. Industries (eddiepaul@epindustries.com), an air-cooled and self lubricating, forced-air inducted (supercharged), 12 cylinder, double ended, ported, multi-fueled, four-stroke engine with a calculated 70 MPG and 300 horsepower from an economical 100 pound package measuring 18 inches in diameter and 24 inches in length, which will provide an unparalleled power-to-weight ratio. Planned use of the new BoseŽ LEM electromagnetic suspension system will provide a much smoother ride than any luxury sedan, combined with less roll and pitch than any sports car (www.bose.com).

Be sure to check back for updates on the progress on America's newest luxury automobile, updates will be posted frequently.

Currently in development with planned market introduction January 2007."

That thing is so damn fugly. I hope the hand of the person who penned that falls off.

+ 300bhp?

That's not enough to be playing in the super GT league.

You need 450bhp at the moment, and that will probably be 500 - 550 by the time that monstrosity is launched.

Yeah .. for something of that weight 300bhp is waaay to low. I cant think of any GT of that sorta size with less than 500bhp at the moment. Power to weight must be immense on that machine

I don't believe it. 300 hp, 70 mgp, a V12 and blown. That just doesn't add up. Might look better with out the bottom side scoop, and all one color.

This will:
A) never come out
B) cost an obscene amount of money
C) be redesigned, and not meet any of the preproduction claims
D) be forgotten about by next week

I smell Veyron part 2.

It's a weird engine that's under development. Pistons in pairs which move upand down in axial chambers and rotating valve openings.

Very few moving parts, the setup has lots of combustion cycles overlaping so can likely produce lots of power but maybe not much torque ?

The super-charged CEM Engine has the potential to become one of the first self-lubricating, air-cooled, multi-fuel, four-stroke cycle engines to deliver two horsepower/pound.

That really doesn't sound too bad. But will it actually fly?

A group of americans is planning to bring back the legendary brand Duesenberg in 2007. The plan looks well thought: freelance car-designer Jeff Teague is working on a design for the new Duesenberg. Teague is a former designer for Kia and Hyundai. In januari 2007 the Duesenberg Torpedo Coupe will be released. Rumours are that the car share a lot of technique with the Mercedes CLS.

E.P. Industries is reported to be building the engine. The engine should be an aircooled supercharged 12-cylinder engine producing 300 bhp. The most astoning fact to the engine is that is should only use 1 liter of gas on 20 kilometers.

If nothing else, it would be fantastic to see something as uniquely powered as this. The looks could be improved upon. They should go more the way of the Exelero (Maybach coupe) and not so retro.

The guy who penned the Excelero must be pissed that someone gave his car a fugly face, 40 inch wheels and an engine that doesn't adhere to the laws of thermodynamics ;)

I'm hoping the answer is "d". Let's everyone, especially its builder, completely forgets about this freakish automotive gargoyle.
