Info? Specs? I think I've never heard of it.

the engine is the 2.4 liter engine found on the Acura TSX/Honda Accord Euro. I think it produces 230 or so horsies. And please, don't say it's not gonna make production...cause it already is.

The 2.4 in the Accord euro is N/A.

Hmm, quite a change of pace there. Possibly to make it more attractive to the Fast & Furious crowd?

I'd like to see this engine and the SH-AWD in the next 'teg Type R, an Evo/STi killer

It's a long ways off from being an Evo/STI killer, the specs are closer to the regular WRX. It's a step in that direction tho and once Honda learns to marry VTEC with turbo power......bye bye S. T. I. :D

SH-AWD is much more advanced than either the Mitsu or Subaru one, and for a Type R version they could easily just tune the engine a bit more for more power

the RDX is technically a crossover that is a Beamer X3 competitor. The production version looks cool...but a bit too edgy

It does make sense as this is the hot new segment, rallycar-inspired rockets. The RDX may just be field testing this new engine/drivetrain...

This isn't Honda's first turbocharged production engine...We've had the 1.7 Commonrail Diesel for some time now...:p

i dont agree with the "lights finaly turned on" selection.
honda has produced some of the most brilliant N/A engines on the market regarding capacity/power.

Honda had a Honda City that was turbo a long time ago... But I think the RDX is cool anyway, although I wonder if there is a market for small luxury SUV's. The only other example I can think of is the X3 and that's it. I wonder if Honda can profit from it.

Yes but they're German so you need to pass through 10 classes of people before anybody would understand what you said :D

I believe what the original poster meant was it is the first production turbo'd vehicle in the US from Honda.
It opens up a whole new door for honda's US market, as long as the share the wealth with other models. hehe

Possibly, but we, from outside the USofA always react to such claims as these would indicate that the rest of the world is non-existing....:)

That's cool! I always knew more about Honda's automotive history than their motorbike history. I better start learning about the company's roots! :D
