i thought that have been a spoof badge but obviously not... :)

It would appear that it is the Peerless Le Mans.
Although the headlights look a little different, and very different to the ones featured here... (http://www.peerless-gt.co.uk/History/History.htm)

The first one is a Intermeccanica Italia Spider and the Bentley is a S1 or S2 Standard Saloon.

Is the Intermeccanica Italia Spider rare?
Yes, only 438 were made between the Coupé and the Spider (I don't have the exact numbers for each).

Is the Intermeccanica Italia Spider rare?
It sure is. But coupe is even rarer. As for the exact number of cars built, I find a different number in each source.:D What is certain is that less than 1000 and more than 400 were made. The problem may be the fact that Italia was earlier named Torino (they lost it to Ford and had to rename the car), and sometimes it's counted together, sometimes separately. Italia was also similar to earlier Griffith/Omega models, which may also cause some confusion.

That is a Jaguar C-type and if you drive it like that on public roads it is 100% certain a replica, as there are many of those around.

That's definitely not a 111R. You can tell from the position of the exhaust tips that it's a Rover K-Series engined car. As to what model it is exactly it's hard to say, possibly a 111S. :)
Piacki_117

Thanks for replying.
111S, i am almost certain. Judging by the shape of the exhaust tips, it cannot be a standard S2. The tips of the 135R are the same but that has a decal on the rear to signify.

Yes, it's the Jaguar Mk II, then it could be a 2.4, 3.4 or 3.8 depending on the engine size. The name Mk II came from the first Jaguar 2.4 (3.4/3.8) Saloon which was replaced by this, hence the Mk II desgination. Then the former became known as the Jaguar Mk I 2.4/3.4/3.8.
By the way, pic #3 is a Mercedes-Benz 190 Ponton I think.

I'd say 1946-1948; apparently styling and details changed very little during those years. I'm not sure what the model name is though; most of the pictures I found were 4-doors.
EDIT: I think it may be a 1946-48 Dodge Deluxe 2-Door Sedan.

Here it is in white. Sorry about the quality, couldn't find much better. And also, it has the name written on the side.....so not to spoil the quest, I chose to attach this one :p . Have more, of a slightly better quality than this. will post later.
On the OX99-11, one of my favourites by the way: I'm not sure whether there is a connection with this car. I only found out about it recently, not much info is to be found.
On the other cars that MysteriousGT1 posted: I recognize both car 1 and 2, just can't think of their names. I am better at remembering where I filed pics of them then remembering their names, so give me some time to find them.
Both are Russian cars by the way.

Yes. Or more simply named on other markets as Austin 1100.
It is not that simple, the 1100 was never named Maxi, that is a bigger model with a larger engine.
This being a 4-door version whereby the grille is not visible, it could well be a Riley or Wolsely derivative or even a VandenPlas 1100/1300

I've learned a lesson today. :o
I never payed much attention to the Maxi cause it never got to Portugal. I thought it was the same, but now I see it's a different thing.
The 1100/1300GT was very popular here though. And there are still some Riley's and Vanden Plas around.

VW Kübelwagen I think.
It's not a Kuebelwagen. It's a VW Typ 181, known also as Thing (USA), Safari (Mexico) or Trekker(UK and other right-hand drive countries). Produced 1969-1980 in Germany and Mexico, assembled in Indonesia. Between 70 and 141 thousands were produced (couldn't find reliable data).
And a question from me: What is this?

It's a VW Brasilia cabriolet (not official version), made in Brazil likes name say... I have another pic, and some of the sedan, the 'normal' version

The AC Schnitzer of that 5 Series was the AC Sch. S5 V8.

Almost right. Actually it's a seven-off :D The car is callled Ferrari FX (not to be confused with Enzo prototype of the same name). According to my best knowledge (which might not be enough:) ) it was build in seven examples between 1994 and 1996. It was based on the F512M and featured a flat 12-cylinder enginea and a 7-speed sequential transmission developed by Williams-BMW or ProDrive (or maybe ProDrive made it for Williams-BMW?). Six of these cars are supposedly owned by the SoB and one (probably the dark blue one on the photo) belongs to someone in the US (Dick Marconi?).
Quite a frequent discussion topic on automotive forums (like all of the SoB cars:) )

I didn't read all your links :o and the supercar link didn't work for me. However years ago an Aussie magazine interviewed the Sultan in Brunei, and this article featured a red car of similar appearance IIRC. It was then touted as being a special, previously secret one-off vehicle commissioned by the Sultan, and referred to and identified as a - or more correctly the - Ferrari FXX. A much later story showed pics of a red FXX (the same car?) stored among hundreds of other exotics and covered in dust, in declining condition

Was the car that you're reffering to a convertible? If so, it was the Mythos, which has a rather similar appearance.
Also, ironically, I saw the FX just today in Mr. Marconi's collection. Pics shall be available in a month. Mr. Dick Marconi is a magnificently gentleman, his collection consisting of 3 of the Sultan's cars.
The story behind the car goes as follows:
One of the sultan's relatives - not entirely sure which one exactly - would write a $30,000,000 personal check to Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls, Merc and several others EACH MONTH. In return, they got the one offs, rarest versions etc. Included were the Ferrari FXs (although Mr. Marconi's preview boards showed that only 1 exists).
The particular car in question was driven by said relative, but eventually he wanted a different transmission put in, so he sent off the car to Mr. Frank Williams I think it was (I have the info in a brochure, not on me though), who charged $1,000,000 for the transmission. The deposit for this was $300,000, with the rest being paid upon completion - as is customary. The work was done, but by then the little disagreement had ensued, and the cashflow was restricted, if not cut off. Mr. Williams did not like the fact that his work worth much more would be done for only $300,000, so he kept the whole thing as collateral. Once it was in his possesion he contacted Mr. Marconi, who bought it for $1,000,000 I believe. It's still in perfect condition in his collection today, in the dark blue paintwork (personally selected by the buyer), and sits next to (1 of 2) a dark green Ferrari 456 Venice Spyder, also of the Sultan's collection.
As I said I have photos, but they won't be available untill I have access to my home computer again.

Thanks for the story Sauc3! I always wondered how it was possible that one of the FXs is in hands of Dick Marconi. After all these cars were made esp. for SoB and I didn't think he would've appreciated it being sold to someone else. But this story explains it. I suspect that sudden cashflow termination :) might have been one of the results of prince Jeffri (sp?), sultan's brother, being cast away for frauding billions of dollars. It was then, that the Sultan ceased deliveries of new cars, sent back all the mechanics and closed all the garages.
Do you know maybe also how the 456 Venices came into posession of Mr. Marconi? I believe ha owns not only a spyder but also a break?
Was the car that you're reffering to a convertible?
:o
Hmm, on reflection it seems I have posted a red herring. The vehicle mentioned in those magazines was indeed a Ferrari FX, and must have been referred to as such - it was not an FXX as I incorrectly remembered
The original magazine article was from approx 10 years ago and I haven't opened it since. In general I'm probably out of my depth in exoticar discussions like this, and am sorry if I've caused any confusion ..

No the articles were from either Modern Motor (probably) or Wheels, who initially did a feature on the Sultan's absurd collection and within that was a 'reveal' of the FX (Enzo-style doors & perspex beetleback). Then perhaps a couple of years later a small follow-up mention and pics on this car as it lapsed into disuse. Sorry, I've too many tons of magazines to sort through :D but IIRC I think the original story was related or accented towards the Sultan's interest in and purchases of early HSV cars

It's Lorenz & Rankl Silver Falcon (known also as Silberfalke), a real rarity. Only 15 were made between 1987 and 1991. It has a Mercedes 5,6 V8 engine. The company is based near Munich, so Bavaria is probably the best place to see one.
Apart from the Falcon, L&R also offered things like: a Cobra replica, various Ferrari cabrio conversions (308, 412, 512, Testarossa), M-B cabrios, Audi and M-B pullmanns and kombi on the E32 BMW 7-series. Now they offer auto industry services.

It isn't a 288 GTO however. It does not feature the 288 GTO's intake on the front lid, lights on the bottom, nor the bumper's intakes. The mirrors are also off.
Yeah, i'll go with F1 Master on this. Looking a bit closer at the 308 GTB it shares more similarities than with a 288.
I think it has had a bit of front end treatment though.

Yeah, i'll go with F1 Master on this. Looking a bit closer at the 308 GTB it shares more similarities than with a 288.
I think it has had a bit of front end treatment though.
:D
I think it has more similarities with a 328. :)

Probably because 328 is just a restyled 308 with a bigger engine? :D

I found this picture recently, andit totally caught me off-guard, since I rarely come across a car that I really have never seen and have no idea the identity of (referring to the car on the right, not the Aston). any thoughts?

^^ It looks really familiar. I can't recall the name, but if it is what I think it is, there was a one page article in Car and Driver some time ago. If I recall correctly, it's powered by a Harley-Davidson motor.

In my opinion that Porsche has nothing from Techart except the wheels.

It's a TVR prototype, called "White Elephant" - a Wedge model fitted with a Holden V8 engine. It was build in 1986 when the old Rover V8 failed to meet new pollution regulations. First idea was to use a Ford V8 from Mustangs, but it was too heavy. Holden then proposed their 5,0 V8. The prototype was build but eventually the redesigned Rover V8 passed the new regulations and the project was abandoned.

I vaguely remember the local publicity for that TVR-Holden proposal, and the engine-weight factor makes for a neat anecdote - excepting that Holden V8s are heavier than the equivalent Ford Windsor V8 ..

I know the picture isn't the best quality, and the environment doesn't help either but I saw those cars in a car park about a couple of weeks ago and I like to identify the one on the left. Can anyone help?
