I got this in an email today...pretty interesting. And its not spam, it is relavent to cars...and thus UCP.com. :)

"The price of Gas...

All these examples do NOT imply that gasoline is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are....

Compared with Gasoline......

Think a gallon of gas is expensive?

This makes one think, and also puts things in perspective.

Diet Snapple 16 oz $1.29 ... $10.32 per gallon

Lipton Ice Tea 16 oz $1.19 ..........$9.52 per gallon

Gatorade 20 oz $1.59 .... $10.17 per gallon

Ocean Spray 16 oz $1.25 . $10.00 per gallon

Brake Fluid 12 oz $3.15 . $33.60 per gallon

Vick's Nyquil 6 oz $8.35 ... $178.13 per gallon

Pepto Bismol 4 oz $3.85 .. $123.20 per gallon

Whiteout 7 oz $1.39 ....... . $25.42 per gallon

Scope 1.5 oz $0.99 .....$84.48 per gallon

And this is the REAL KICKER...

Evian water 9 oz $1.49..........$21.19 per gallon!

$21.19 for WATER

and the buyers don't even know the source.

(Evian spelled backwards is Naive.)

Ever wonder why printers are so cheap?

So they have you hooked for the ink.

Someone calculated the cost of the ink at................

you won't believe it...................

but it is true.........................

$5,200 a gal. (five thousand two hundred dollars)

So, the next time you're at the pump, be glad your car doesn't run on water, Scope, or Whiteout, Pepto Bismol, Nyquil
or God forbid, Printer Ink!!!!!

Just a little humor to help ease the pain of your next trip to the pump...

And - If you don't pass this along to at least one person, your muffler will fall off!!"

Well see the other items are expensive relative but they are priced knowing that no one earth buys them by the gallon. Gas hits the pocketbook hard, nvr heard anyone say they couldn't afford a soda, but some people are using public transit just because they can no longer drive everywhere.

Hey, well, could be worse- you could live here, where it's $7.13 for a US gallon of petrol.

Not all water is $21 a gallon. Everybody know an individual bottle of water is priced alot higher than a gallon jug, or a case of 24 bottles (if you divide it out). A gallon of water is maybe $5 tops.

at my local grocery store gallon jugs of drinking water are .69, but then again here in Alabama everything is cheap.... even the women.

That's very interesting. Problem is, people don't usually buy these products at the gallon as often (if ever) than gas.

even the women.

especially the women! haha

we have gallon jugs of water out here for about 69 cents too but a little bottle of evian or aquafina costs about a dollar.

If you guys knew about wholesale buying then this wouldn't happen.

Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's..... :D

Individual sales are more expensive. 20 ounce Coke is selling for $1.25.

A 2 Liter is selling for about 75 cents. They rip you off because you would look like a turd carrying a 2 L bottle on the street. :D

Its all about the packaging making the price, a gallon of Snapple would not be that much simply because it wouldn't come in the glass bottle, which is more expensive than plastic. Anyway, interesting stuff none the less.

Good morning America was OUTRAGED this morning that some soda was $2.00 now and was $1.75 ten years ago. *insert crazy smiley*

I pay $2 for a 8.3 ounce can of Red Bull, sometimes more. And that's not including tax.
