Black was gorgeous, but i wanna see the odd colours, especially the Red and Green. I'd probably get Black or Grey, with the carbonfibre side pod thing

Agreed. I wonder how hard it'd be to get a ride in one.....

1) There's one coming
2) They have to upgrade the Gallardo as well, so as to not tread on Lambo's toes. They will make the Gallardo more powerful around the same time the V10 R8 is released to stop it stealing Lambo sales.

It really doesn't. It lapped the Evo magazine race track faster than a Koenigsegg CCX.

I think it could use more power. Look at it. It wants more power. It wants a V12 but will only get a Gallardo's V10.

IIRC I read a EVO quick review of the new S5 that the writer was near the Audi factory and saw an A5 of some description come blasting past, with what he was pretty damn sure was the V10 soundtrack.

I'd love to a V10 engined R8. We'll have to wait and see.
Don't mind Tiv there, he just really doesn't like AWD...or Limies for that matter.

Yes, the V-10 diesel from the Q7.

It should be interesting indeed.

They really can make it a halo car and market as a "road version" of the Audi R10.

Probably it'll be the V12 TDI unveiled as a concept some time ago. If they end up doing it, another reason to hate it.

Well I'm saying that because before the S6 was out there were many articles saying that Audi was having trouble fitting the V10 under the A6s bonnet, and that at some point they had given up and had gone the V8 way (which in the end wasn't the case). Mercedes-Benz also decided against a V10 as the substitute of the M113 AMG V8 because it wouldn't fit in the C-class AMG.

That's why I'm a bit skeptical about an hipotetical V10-engined RS4/5.

Yep, you're right, the current V8 engine will go into the RS5, which is excellent because it's supposed to be an amazing engine, and obviously provides itself to the R8... :D

Also, i've already fallen in love with the C63, i saw some spy pics of the estate and it looks amazing. :D

Hehe, and yeah, it sucked cos we cancelled our one last year, but im glad, because the 21" rims weren't available then, and we're getting them now :o

We ordered it in Quartz Grey, not too over the top with options etc... Should be wicked, when its delivered in around November/December i can finally post some good pictures. Now i'm just waiting, hoping i can get a nice car next year (Alfa Junior should be wicked)

Well, the A5 and A4 aren't actually related at all, so there's no reason for the 10 to not fit in the A5 even if it can't go in the A4 (though you can fit a V10 in a 3-series so Audi and MB are just being lazy) and in one of the release reviews I read that the RS5 was going to be V8, using the RS4 V8.

Vaigra

The next generation A4 will be pretty much a 4-door A5 so if they get a V10 inside the RS5, the next generation RS4 should be interesting.

i think they woudl have to go for a moniker above the rs4... seems like they woudl keep the current ones and go for an rsq4 or something like that. just have a dozen engines and trip packages on the A4.

Isn't the V-10 already in the S5?

So something more potent should be in the RS5 right?

Can't wait. :D

Edit- nvm, it's a V-8, but still, it should be quite powerful anyway.

Oh nice! SE or S-Line?

My Dad wants a Q7 but it's a question of if he can afford one, plus help with my car, plus my Mum's new car plus the new house and all the mountains of work that it'll need including re-doing the whole garden, extensions and garages with an ofice above etc...

Oh yeah, which engine too!?

3.0TDI S-Line.
If he can afford one, he should buy one. But i definitely suggest an S-Line and the extra £700 for the MUCH better looking wheels. Sounds like a Q7 is bottom of his to-do list atm, with good reason. But some options are necessary, like tech pack. I'd say he'll need about £47k for an S-Line if he wants to spec it up well. He could probably haggle about 5% off that and obv much cheaper if u give in ur A6. But if you can, you should!!! :D

Waugh-terfall

Yeah, it wouldn't be brand-new, he always buys like 2month old Ex-Demo's, he doesn't see the point in buying brand new when it looses to much value, he's tight with his money, I think his budget is around £34/36k, plus about £625k for the house, £15k for Mum's car and probably around £1k to help me out with my dream of a Mazda 3 next year.

I looked on Audi's website and there's a couple lightly-specced 4.2FSIs for less than £40k, not S-Lines, i still dunno how, but there were  . But i dont think there was a single one beneath £36k, so thats the minimum i'd expect to find one for. Hope you find a good one though. Just make sure you get big rims :D

What's wrong with TDI? Audi diesel engines are wicked... You can get several options on an A6LM and still pay the standard £35k (for the 3.0TDI, dunno about the 2.7), just haggle hard! ;) .Let's move conversation to the A6LeMans and Q7 threads now! 3pages of irrelevant stuff...

Diesel = lose.
They are going to bring out a diesel in the R8 soon, though it must be said i'd much rather take the V8 or the upcoming V10 (or the upcoming McLaren or Mercedes, whoever is making it). I think a slightly tuned version of the 4.2TDI in the Q7 makes more sense. Having a V12 might make the Lamborghini look a bit pointless (though i'd still rather have a Lambo), because some people won't see past the V12... Also, having a choice of 4.2L engines makes sense to me. 4.2FSI and 4.2TDI ? Ah well, we're about to get the 3.0TDI in the Q7 which is meant to be a corker of an engine.

The carbon fibre sides will be available as an option after 1 model year, at least for U.S. customers. I e-mailed Boardwalk, and 2 Audi dealerships in Florida to try and see if it was true, and apparently, it is. All 3 replied Audi is in some sort of "Lack of material resources" for the CF on the side panel....

Well, someone's taken an R8 and made a racer out of it in a funny coincidence, so we may yet see an R8 race again.

From Autoblog (http://www.autoblog.com/2007/12/19/creventic-cr-8-takes-audi-supercar-to-the-track/):

It was only a matter of time. Audi unveils the R8 supercar, and somebody wants to take it racing. Leave it to the Dutch to pick up the slack, as Netherlands-based Creventic BV is preparing the "CR-8" for an assault on endurance sportscar racing.

Thus far, Creventic has been cautious with its modifications. The current CR-8 benefits from a remapped engine management system to produce 430 hp (ten horses over the stock 420) and the removal of the factory-installed low-gear restrictor, as well as a host of baubles and bolt-ons to the body to bring it up to race spec. 18-inch BBS competition rims wrapped in Toyo racing slicks are put in place, a 90-liter racing fuel tank installed and AST suspension components mounted at all four corners. Creventic is also working on squeezing more power out of the RS4-derived V8 engine, a race-spec sequential gearbox and carbon fiber body panels, among other competition modifications.

The first pair of CR-8s will be shown next month at the Dubai Autodrome in the United Arab Emirates for a race-track shakedown and public unveiling, with the first customer cars to be delivered shortly thereafter.

They don't say what series they plan to race these in though. Any ideas?
