That's right, there's going to be a Caparo Police car.
It won't make it into production, but it'll be on display.
More info in the link.

Caparo: police issue
Caparo have joined forces with the Metropolitan Police to come up with this T1 showpiece.
It's obviously never going to become a real world patrol vehicle, but the very idea is enough to fuel a good few minutes of school boy like day dreams.
Imagine how quickly you could get through town in this with the sirens blaring?
It is however real enough to be making an appearance at this week's MPH show, that's on from November 1-4 at Earls Court, London and next week on the 8-11 at Birmingham's NEC. Get tickets here.

Does the slate/yellow paint scheme remind anyone else of the Dallera Grp5 X 1/9???

I would really like high-res pictures of that. They aren't already posted in Matt's High Res Hideout, are they?

No, I don't think there are any high res pictures.
If you go for the displays though I'm sure you can get some. :D

It's cars like these that make me want to commit crimes just to get chased by them. :D

I fail to see reasoning for this car...i mean at least the "almost as pointless" muicie police car can take some equipment and a passenger. This is just publicity anyways..

Are they going to be over here?
Maybe I'll get lucky and one will be at my local auto show (mine is in about 2 weeks, methinks).

What link are you talking about?
The only link I got and used was the Top Gear one.

This is a joke though huh? Cause here our Police call off high speed chases (or so they tell us) in the name of public safety. That thing kind of encourages them. And you aren’t going to be able to do much at 200mph other than concentrate on not hitting other shit.

It's typical "high profile" image that police use over here lots.
They don't own it !
The car will NOT be used in any pursuit and will change it's livery many times a month for photo ops for this and other forces :)
Besides, it coulnd't be allowed to go any faster than the fire engine required to follow it "Just in case" :D

Its a "high visability" deterrant, that is IF its anything like the cars they use like this in australia. it just drives around and isnt allowed to be used in chases etc.

Actually, I don't think it's being built.
And if it ever had the reliability exhibited by 5th Gear and Top Gear, it'll never run without being in the garage for 3/4 of its service. :D
