I don't know about you but you are the only person who claims the (when you say the, it is assumed that you are talking about the Prius in production) Prius is ugly. I find the Prius very nice looking.

Practicality: Echo
Bang for the buck: Prius, you are getting so much. Toyota probably loses money on every Prius sold.

There is a waiting list for a prius because it is so popular. So Toyota calls it a job well done ;)

Well since our USDM Echo is a Yaris with a trunk tacked on the back, it's pretty crappy if you ask me. They should get over the prejudice that Americans don't like hatchbacks. Of course, they do give us a hatchback Echo now in the form of the Scion xA. The first generation Prius was pretty fugly in my opinion, the new one is better. But since I have no interest in any car whose gears I cannot shift myself, the only hybrid that's ever been even remotely interesting to me was the original Honda Insight with the 5-speed stick.

i dont know wut ppl see in the prius? it seems extremly ugly to me. There are much better looking cars out there that may not have as good epa mileage but will still do.

The Prius has a waiting list in California, simply because all the stars would like to be seen in it. The BMW X5 has a waiting list, what does that say about the car: that people want to be seen in it, that shouldn't be used as an argument to say the car is good.

The Echo is a good car, old nowadays, but well built, slightly funky looking (Funny, if you ask me) and is sold relatively cheap in Australia at least. The Prius, while being in a completely different catagory, is also about Au$25,000 more than the most expensive Echo Hatch (The sedan is an absolute joke: no wonder Toyota now has Scion!).

Come to think of Scion, maybe it would have been better for the brand if the Prius had been marketed as a Scion, rather than a Toyota? or maybe they didn't really want the brand in the first place......

All in all I can't justify paying $25,000 more to have a slightly larger car, with questionable resale, rather than a conventional hatch which does the job just as well, only slightly less efficiently. For a base Prius (There sold fully loaded here) I could almost get 2 Echos! ridiculous.....

There are Two types of Priuses (AUS) the Liftback 5dr CVT 1sp 1.5i and Liftback i-Tech 5dr CVT 1sp 1.5i the first one is 37k and 46k for the second one..hmmm for 46k lets see I can buy a VW passat.. a Holden/ Opel Vectra V6 3.2L a Audi A4 47k, Renault Laguna V6 and a BMW 318i for just a little more.. those I just some of the cars I can think off, I would hardly call it cheap.

definately the prius...out of all the hybrids though i would say that the honda insight looks the best, especially in the metallic green/yellow colour

ho, please, NO.

I don't care if a car was the best in the world, I'd hate it to be the only one.

Could you imagine how much of a compromise it would be to do all the jobs we use our cars for.

Could you imagine the motorway in the morning with EVERYONE looking the same.

uuuuurrrgh.

Can't Toyota combine the electro engine in the Prius with one of their D4D diesel engines, that would really provide a frugal car.

I'll take the Prius. This is because if I was to buy a new car, I'll have to take into consideration the prices of gas.

If I was rich enough then I'll take the Enzo. :D

than ....... ?????

Yes, it's better than some, but it's not as good as some would make out.
Especially if the energy and pollutions to make the battery cells is taken into account !!!

There's a lare list already been posted of cars that make better consumption and pollution than the Prius and we've not even touched on the Peugeot and Renault cars out on fleet test in France

and make for lower emissions with a decent scrubber.

BUT, with the US being their focus market for the technology then it woudl not sell. The US are way behind Europe in adoptng performance diesels in cars :(

best thing we've got here in canada aside from some golf diesals and civic hybrids

thats true about the battery cells i didn't think about that but u have to admit its a step in the right direction, we're still quite a bit from hydrogen power so this is the next best thing
