EVO 8 and Impreza should definitely be in kool, and M3 CSL in uncool!?!? WHY? Mini Cooper S needs to be in uncool, all the audi's need to be uncool, Ferrari Enzo in uncool, and Bentley Continental GT uncool. The rest looks about right.

I'd actually agree,the CSL is an ugly car, and when you have an ugly car, people not in the know don't like it.

I don't agree with the VW Phaeton, or the Mitsubishi Shogun (Pajero/Montero) being cool, they are boring, and in the case of the Shogun, Hideous. I also Disagree with the Punto, it's boring, lazy and the only car which has progressively gotten worse with each facelift.

The Jazz is cool like the iPod is cool, functional, easy to use and practical, plus, it's full of space.

Also the Vel Satis????? These people are smoking something.

And thats what I think. I also believe that Jeremy Clarkson should listen to Richard Hammand more often, because he knows what is cool and what is not. Jeremy is off his rocker. EDIT/ taz i am sure that you have missed a few cars off there and the DB9 isnt in sub-zero it had to have its own firdge built at the end -past sub-zero- with a little container of liquid nitrogen in to make it look cool :p

I think most of the people who don't really understand the list will struggle to do so if they don't watch Top Gear.

The basic premise is that a good isn't necessarily a cool car. So the reason Ferraris aren't cool is because they make you look like a footballer, or a sad act poseur. Cars like Evos and WRXs aren't cool because they're all driven by guys called Kevin. So most of it is down to what the stereotypical driver of the car is like. Cars like the Defender are cool because they say little about you. They can be driven by a working class builder, a middle class farmer or an upper class lady of the manor. They're classless. Anything that is thought of as... erm... "compensation for other areas lacking" is instantly uncool.

That said, there's still plenty of cars on there that don't really fit that criteria, due to the law unto himself that is Mr. Clarkson, like Matra said.

It's all in good fun, as is the new Top Gear way. Or at least it will be when it restarts again. :(

I disagree. The M3 is uncool, because they are bought (mostly) by drug dealers, or wanna be drug dealers.

The CSL is even less cool because it is obsessive and nerdy in its persuit of extra performance. Shaving mm's off the pedals to save 0.0005g, minutely different valves that extract 0.0005bhp extra, et cetera.

In the end you have a car which is marginally faster than an ordinary M3 at a cost of £20,000 odd.

You can buy an ordinary M3, tune it to the same level as the CSL and have some serious savings.

Peugeot 307 CC is one of thos cars which has a meaty look to it it is a very wide looking car and how can you put the VW Golf Diesel in the uncool list as well the Diesel seems to be alot quicker than the Petrol believe it or not! :eek: But the 307 is a great car the best mod i liked on the 307 is a uy i saw put lexus clear light in the back and it looked great with all silver tinted windows and a nice bay side blue colour to finish off the car! Sweet! :cool:

You just don't get it do you! IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ITS THE MOST SPACIOUS, COMFORTABLE, FASTEST etc CAR IN THE WORLD! (A New) Ferrari makes you look like some Footballer having a premature midlife crisis, WRX and EVO are driven by stupid boy racers, therefore they are uncool.

Ford Focus. Great car, affordable, comfortable, fun to drive, etc.. But so many people own one its not funny. Its the worlds most popular family car. Therefore. UNCOOL!

i know lotsa boy racers drive wrxs and stis but the evo was the undefeated king of rallying (group A) for years, and although they're having trouble with the wrc now (not that big a surprise really, lack of capital and the fact the evo was really a tarmac spec car up until VII doesnt help either) the road going versions are still really amazing, signal auto a tuning company from japan uses an evo 8 as their time attack car, their skyline with a gazillion horsepower cant even go as fast as the 8 (that wasnt a compliment to the skyline it was an insult to all u skyline fanboys :D)
over here in canada the evo 8 isnt available which makes it all the more cooler

The Focus is a good car - it is acclaimed as one of the best handling front wheel drive cars ever.
There is nothing especially wrong with it, although not many Americans seem to agree on its styling.

Also, footballers over here usually sign up for a team at 15 and if they're reallyy good kicking a lump of leather around don't bother with ANY schooling from that point on. So we get some VERY rich kids, with no concept of an education either intellectually or morally.

And it's not just TopGear. My ex-boss 'traded up' from a Porsceh to a Ferrari. He was driving through Edinburgh with the roof down and was shouted "w@nker" quite a few times. THAT's the image the Ferrari owner has over here !!!! FOr other reasons he returned to a Porsceh and it returned to adoration of the car !!!
