Nissan Maxima move to RWD?

What are the chances the Nissan Maxima will move to RWD when Nissan remodels it? Right now it has quite a bit of power for a FWD car and so does the Altima. It seems to me as if they have no reason not to move. They have 350z already that can be used to switch over the Maxima and Altima to RWD. They seem to want to introduce low power compact cars now, maybe in order to make way for the Maxima and Altima to move to RWD.
Do you all think it will happen with the next model of the Maxima at least? Maybe not the Altima just yet.

Probably not - Nissan already has the similar size RWD Skyline. Perhaps they'll merge the two separate ranges into a single range in the future though.

^^Agreed, it doesnt sound very promising. Plus it would be a bit smarter if they left the FWD. As people buy them to drive full year, and not to park for the winter. Family cars, etc.

the problems of a heavier car, the cost of revamping assembly lines for a new car, less of interior space in a RWD car, etc etc... will ALWAYS Remain

Platform sharing with Renault might prevent the introduction of RWD. No chance that Renault will present anything else but F/AWD since they dropped the Clio V6

I don't think it will happen anytime soon. It would cut into the G35's sales.
