AW11 MR2 3SGTE motor mount swap kit???

I'm looking at buying an 86 MK1 MR2, but would like to go with the 3SGTE, but dont have the time or equipment to fabricate motor mounts. Does anyone know if there are any companies that make a "bolt" on motor mount kit similar to what they make for the B-series honda engines? and would the 4AGE manual transmission work on the 4AGZE engine, and visa-versa. any and all information would be great....

I would try to help you out, but all those code/ID's of the engine/tranny make me dumbfounded at what exactly you want to put in and why.

For vehicle specific questions, you're best off seeking answers at vehicle specific forums.
Here's the biggest MR2 site on the web: http://www.mr2oc.com/
This is the best help you'll get here.

I want to swap the 3SGTE (gen2 mr2 turbo) engine into the mk1, but if no motor mount kit is avaliable and has to be fabricated, I will go with the SC 4AGZE but need to know if the n/a tranny will fit the SC engine.

If you're worrying about it being a hassle to install, you probably shouldn't be considering an engine swap... and considering you just bought an N/A 1987 MR2, my guess is that you might not want to spend the money on a swap that will surely cost several times what the car is worth.

However: There was a Japanese market 20-valve "Silver Top" engine that made about 180hp (its from a later model Corolla GTS, but its still a 4A-G).

Words of wisdom.

The only difference between the 4AGE and 4AGZE is that the latter has T-VIS and the silver-top engine doesn't.

But ask someone else about the mounts and stuff in case I'm wrong.

You could do a 3SGTE swap, I've heard of it being done on AE86's which also use 4AGEs.

Install a nitrous kit. Quick hassle free power... for a while at least.

The 4AGE is N/A with T-VIS
The 4AGZE is the supercharged version
There is a 4AGE 20 V with a silver top 5 valve per cylinder, the blacktop 20v is a later model with slightly higher comp, bigger ITB's 48mm, slighly higher lift intake cam.

The 20V swap can be done into an AW11 for under $1000. A company named Pheonix Tuning makes a wiring harness that makes the swap pretty much a bolt in job. Its quite possibly one of the easiest engine swaps in the fuel injected world.

I am putting a Blacktop into my MR2 and in stock form with a few basic bolt ons and hope to be pretty solidly in the 13's. It's a pretty popular swap. There is a whole ton more involved in dropping in a 3SGTE but still very doable as well if you have the funds to do it.

From the grave!
