Well theres Asian cars, and then theres Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese etc. Japan is easily at the forefront for producing cars in the region. Korean manufacturers will probably be at a similar level in 20 years, but currently the only standout is Hyundai as far as improved quality goes but they still dont make anything groundbreaking. China has recently boomed with regards to manufacturing cars, although alot of them are put together worse than a paper aeroplane and that is reflected in how cheap theyre made. Taiwan makes alot of light commercial vehicles.

Japanese cars can be considered some of the best cars in the world alongside European cars. European cars generally contain more technology which makes them less reliable, but alot of the newer breeds of cars from both regions drive and look great.

Japanese cars are awesome!!! Whaddaya mean they suck!!! Just think of Honda, how they can get 200hp out of just a 2.0L N/A engine, something that takes a loooooooooooong time to do (probably never).

The biggest thing IMO about Japanese cars is that they managed to get the best outta 280bhp when their laws forced them not to produce anything more powerful than 280bhp. I think the NSX-R is stunning in every way, Honda managed to fine-tune the car so well that it runs as fast as a F360 Challenge Stradale on Nurburgring with that same old 280bhp 3.2L V6 while keeping the exterior looking simple and beautiful. Nissan also made a stunning debut when they launched the R34 GT-R with an AWD system so well-made. Mazda made history in Le Mans when they won the 1991 race with an unconventional rotary engine, and their MX-5 also became the best-selling sports car. Subaru and Mitsubishi have taken several world rally champions soon after they started making Imprezas and Evolutions, and of course some before these modern offroad beasts too.

If you assume everything by comparing a Camry with an Audi then you have problems.

I disagree. Japanese offerings have as a selling point their technology.

Its called deceit, and wasnt it 280PS, which rounds out to 276hp?

Toyota and Nissan are the best examples. The last Mk5's and R34's definately didnt make 280PS peak, so they were either advertised at the RPM they did make that power, or the manufacturer flat out lied.
