FX37 or FX35?

These last days the new entry level FX has been unveiled. However it seems there's some discrepancies regarding which engine it really has. Worldcarfans say it has the new 3.7-litre V6 while pretty much everyone else, like Autoblog, says it has the old 3.5-litre V6. The car in the pics seems to be the same, yet with different badges.

So which engine does it have? Or is that the US and Europe get different engines? Or someone has a very creative mind?

Also I love that paragraph from the WCF article:

Quote:
In common with the entire Infiniti range, FX37 has been fine tuned for European road conditions. As well as revised settings for the suspension and steering and enhanced NVH protection, FX37 has been given bigger brakes better to cope with Europe’s higher average speeds. This, in turn, has allowed 20-inch alloy wheels to be fitted as standard.
And finally as a side note, what do European members think of the (soon to be) introduction of Infiniti to Europe? Do you like it? Would you consider buying one?

They're officially in Russia for some months already

I would buy one, over almost anything, a G35/37 would be nice please!

Altough Infinity (europe) needs to start thinking diesel right away and not only the 3.0dci from Renault.

Doesn't that press release say it has 3.5 not 3.7?

At any rate the newer FX looks much worse than the outgoing one IMO.....I think I like the EX better....

From what I know, I hear that it's a 3.7 liter engine.

But, Ferrer, do you like this car at all? I find it to be absolutely disgusting from the front.

It's an SUV which makes it automatically awful.

The G37 on the other hand isn't bad, but I still think the styling isn't all that good. And it'll need some other engines to succeed.

So why are you interested at all?

It's also a useless SUV- it's no good for any cliff climbing.

The G37 is a good car. The engine is huge. You meant that it needed smaller engines or larger one?

I'm not interested in the FX, I just asked which engine it had because I found different articles anouncing different engines.

Then I asked about Infiniti as a whole. And yes the G needs smaller engines.

The last G/Skyline sedan in Japan comes in 2, 2.5 and 3 liter variant on top of the 3.5 that we get in N. America, wonder why Nissan didn't wholesale bring those here too(those are direct injection as well). But then again I see new 3 series BMW everywhere and pretty much all the ones I've seen thesedays are 335.....

I bet an hipotetical G20 and G25 range would be much better sellers than the G37. Then again, is this supposed to be a 3er or a 5er rival?

I'm pretty sure it's the 3.7 otherwise the name tag wouldn't make sense. Personally, I am thrilled, ever since I came accross Infiniti, mainly the FX35/45, in Florida, Spring 2005 I went crazy trying to find if there were any plans to export to Europe as I thought the car looked absolutely fantastic. One sad down-side is whether they will sell well over here or be a flop like Cadillac were a few years back due to their distict lack of diesels.

3 series....though size wise the G is bigger than 3 and closer to the 5s, but no V8 option for the G...

In Europe they are likely going to need smaller engine option, but in N. America they do fine market sales wise without it....
