200sx/240sx/Silvia????

I posted this to ask a question about the 200sx and 240sx...I know alot about Nissans and this question is bugging me....I know that the Silvia is Japan and 240sx is USA....the SR20DET is Japan & KA24DE is USA...and I know that in Japan there is a Kouki style S14 & a Zenki style....and the S15 never came to the states....but I saw some ppl on a website fighting about the difference between a 200sx & 240sx???
1st off I thought that the 240sx was just the US version of the Silvia....Also I thought the Japanse versions were: RPS13, S13, S14(Zenki & Kouki), & S15...and if u consider the 180sx......anyways can anyone tell me the difference between a 200sx(or Silvia) & 240sx cause I dont believe these ppl on the other site and Im confused...Thanks

To my knowledge, the 240sx is a 180sx running the larger KA24DE. Beyond that don't have a clue.

240sx is the same as the corresponding Japanese 200sx/Silvia but just with the 2.4l engine instead of the ca18 or sr20. I think thats what you want to know. 180sx was offered alongside the s13 and I believe s14 Silvia's with the CA18 and later on the sr20 engines.

A 200SX is what the S14/S15 Silvia was called when sold in some territories, Australia being one of them. There are some spec differences, but that's basically it.

There's also renewed rumours of a new Silvia/200SX being developed... but myea. There's always rumours.

Some info on the various models here.

In the US, the 200sx was delivered in two distinct versions, the original style (180SX hatchback with the KA (2.4) POS and the first gen S14 (kouki). Shared the same engine unfortunately as its a bit shitty from what I've heard.

so in short

US 200SX - 1st gen = 180SX / 2nd gen 200SX = 200SX (S14) Series one (kouki)

1st off, thanks for the help and I think I kinda understand now....and u said that Kouki was the first Generation & I think that Zenki is the first and Kouki is the later Gen.....

Zenki

Kouki

Im pretty sure that Nissan just needed to think of some different names cause Ive even seen a 200sx that looks like a Sentra in USA and you guys said that in Europe & Austraila they are called different too...idk

I actually saw a convertible version the other day.

It looked like Whiteballz's car actually, except it was a softtop.

the 200sx should be the european version of the north american 240sx or jdm silvia/180sx
the 240sx came to north america was the 180sx and an onevia style s13, later models were based on the s14
the 200sx was the 180sx only i think, not too clear about that though. later models were s14, i don't s15s ever made it out of japan

north american cars used different engines but i think the 200sx and silvia used same engines

the 240sx came to north america was the 180sx and an onevia style s13, later models were based on the s14
the 200sx was the 180sx no, they are separate models only i think, not too clear about that though. later models were s14, i don't s15s ever made it out of japan

north american cars used different engines but i think the 200sx and silvia used same engines early cars used ca18's, mainly 180sx's and early model S13's. also i've seen all of them carry the name 'silvia' except the 180.
eh?
i've tried to clear it up a little for you, but i'mnot too sure what you were trying to say in the first place
