well at least its not an alluminium block. even if what u say is right, that the engine would crack up trying to produce 1900hp, thered still be some people runnign skyline drag cars that would be making pretty close to that mark

well "apparently" the HKS Drag car makes 1011 in Gran tourismo though i hear it makes in the vicinity of 900 hp. Make a note im not putting too much faith in the GT reference.

they're really only accurate with thinks like the specifications of the cars, like engine size, weight, bore/stroke etc. the tuning part of the cars on the game is all b/s

1011hp isnt a big leap for a skyline, but 1900hp is a whole new ball game

In japan Kakimoto (or was it Jun?) was building a 1400 ps (about 1380 hp) GT-R. The engine was almost all new, with a much stonger crank, rods, pistons, metal gasket etc. The engine block was placed in a cradle to prevent warping under the massive boost pressures. It had a capacity increase of 400cc (up to 3.0 lt) and I think Trust twin turbos.

The fact is when it comes to modifying turbo cars the sky is the limit, but it often turns into chequebook racing.

exactly my point, they had to brace the block for 1400hp, at 1900 you could brace it all you wanted it would still be a big scrap heap once you tryed to get the power out of it

Absolutely. But no engine, turbo or atmo, can be built for those pressures. That would cost too much. I think the Skylines internals are rated to 500 ps as standard. Not all that much really. The Supra twin turbo has a stronger bottom end, as does the v8 lexus.

Have to agree with you there. Anyone can build a car with 1500 hp, but these machines are useless on the street. Even most 700 hp cars are absolute pigs to drive, the turbo sizing makes city driving a nightmare and so on. And often there isn't the opportunity to really use the power anyway.

Tuning cars is great, and fast cars are fabulous, but more often than not people (very dangerously) substitute more power for a lack of driving talent.
