It has it, they just haven't activated it yet, much like DSC on the Falcons. It's all there, basically all they need to do is turn it on. And fit bigger wheels.

Something like that

I would have thought that Ford would have announced them by now.

Its still a while until October before they go on sale. Alot of people are expecting the shocks to be part of the range considering they were intended for BF, so they wont really achieve anything by announcing them early.

I dont know, i thought it was a development issue rather than a supply issue.

I'm nearly positive it was a supply issue

From Carpoint when BF was released
Quote:
Because the drivetrain upgrades and noise suppression were main priorities which absorbed the biggest slices of BF's development budget, intended tweaking of suspension spring rates and adoption of monotube dampers were deferred until some time hence. Don't hold your breath.
Not saying that's gospel, though ;-)

I saw the complete opposite .. and read it in the newspaper, so it must be true

Something like this ..

"The V8 , although it remains the same basic 6.0-litre engine, it wears a new code number, L98. Where the L76 was cylinder-deactivation-ready, the 270kW L98 is not, which must mean the fuel-saving technology is some way off. The L98 however has a larger sump, therefore extending service intervals to 15,000km, just like the V6."

I've noticed a few conflicting claims within the media hysteria about VE. More than once there has been specific mention that VE's platform was designed to be flexible enough to accomocodate future hybrid technology, or (vaguely) to allow for it. Which made me think .. 'is there anything this new Holden wundercar cannot do?'

Yet a direct quote at VE release from GMH engineer guru Tony Hyde said the definitive opposite, that this platform was not in any way designed with hybrid in mind. So it's too easy sometimes to be confused by claims vs counter-claim

------

Re BF monotube, the reports I saw alluded to the supplier being as-yet unable to achieve & deliver a consistent production-level of quality. This can't impress manufacturers like Koni & Bilstein etc who have been reliably producing monotubes for decades, haven't they?

the new 6L does not come with DSC at all. Holden cannot "turn it on" or fit anything to it. It simply is not in the engine that Holden purchases from GM. It is a cheaper option.

I was talking to a machanic last night and he said he went on a course for the BF II. He said that there is a "black box" under the dash that records all parameters of the car befroe a crash. It measures speed, when the airbags go off, how much ABS was applied. Have you guys heard any thing about this?

Havent heard the BF2 was fitted with such a system, but the idea of fitting black boxes to cars im aware of. 5th gear did a feature on them awhile ago.

You know what they say, Keep close to the back box in a accident.
Sounds like a great idea.
