Where'd you get this info from, and what does it represent?

And by the looks of it, if it was going to be a new GTHO, it'd say GTHO

This might be a later date coming maybe?. I think not sure that holden HSV registered a couple of names also?.
Might be the new name for the Typhoon? Maybe a turbo 8 who knows?. Might be a new option on the FPV range?. But i don't think it will be the GT40's engine just yet.

Car makers often register names that they may never use. Just because they register a new name it's automatically a new model. Theres a good site that shows all the names registered by automakers over the years. Only a small amount are used.

Force 6 sounds pretty cool I'm looking forward to new models from FPV...A supercharged/ turbocharged V8 would be awesome!!

F6 was Forced six, Force 6 is likely to be an upspec model similar to the relation ship between R8 and GTS. Force 8 would just be an excuse for a hipo model that doesnt have an HO badge. FPV and Ford are under immense pressure to get any new HO exactly right, and its not really worth it to them as theyre sure to disappoint someone if they bring out a new one.

As they'd obviously be forced induction, the GT500 and GT engines are obvious candidates, but both would still be expensive. They could also develop a local engine, and use a WA sourced Sprintex supercharger. They could also go twin turbo, but supercharging is probably easier.

Saying though that its a response to a VE GTS is a bit much. HSV has had a GTS since VR iirc, so it was a given that with the LS7 available, as well as other engines for the picking that it was going to happen.

FPV though, armed with the knowledge theyve successfully established themselves in the market once dominated by HSV, could throw anything at us.

A new range or new models upon the VE HSV release? haha its going to be an interesting few months indeed. In my opinion, I dont think there is going to be a GT-HO, but more so, like fpv_gtho pointed out, a hipo GT where the HO badge doesnt have to be used - a model to see public reaction for the future when they do indeed make the gtho a reality. Force 8? mMm sprintex supercharger maybe, but im not sure if FPV themselves would go that far to use one, didnt Hiller / Autotek incorporate one before? If i were to have a wild WILD shot, it would be a TTV8.

Pretty sure that Sprintex superchargers were used on the AU 300+ cars. They had a Mustang 4.6 quad cam and ended up producing 360kw and about 700nm. One of the last Wheels speed shootouts had a sedan, cant remember what speed it achieved but ive got the mag somewhere.

EDIT: Here we go: AEC Falcon 300+, claimed 360kw@6000rpm, claimed 660nm@2800nm, claimed 206kw/tonne. It was good for 265km in 5th and 260km/h in 6th on the day

I'd imagine the Force 6/Force 8 names just fit into the F6 Typhoon naming structure of Ford.

Although a Turbo'd 8 would be an interesting prospect.

I have just seen something about a Corvette Supercharged engine coming soon out or maybe a year or so time. So a Supercharged 5.4LT might be right on the money.
I think there is a couple of donks that HSV might use in the future.
LS3 6.2lt. Something about a LS9 i might have to go back and have a look more.

a member from supercars.net ( i know, i know!! NOT the most reliable source, and it is just someone saying it ) "They'll be the BF's last hurrah, a 310+kW Turbo 6 and 370+kW SC 8."

Just thought i'd reignite this discussion, im thinking limited editions, indeed a lust hurrah for the current shaped Falcon / FPV.

I dont think they'd do something like that. Ford needs to be in a position to consolidate buyers so they dont buy VE's and put themselves in a position, that come March 08 theyre maybe 12 months away from another new car. Whilst offering hyped up runouts might get a few in, it will also severely piss off anyone whos just bought a Falcon who are the people Ford need to keep as buyers. Ford should be aware of the massive backlash Holden and HSV has recieved when they first released the LS1 with the same output as the outgoing Holden V8 in the GTS, and then introduced the LS2 in the Z series, again essentially as a $30K cheaper GTS. Theres probably a minority of buyers out there that went running when AU was released, and may have finally gained some confidence back in Ford. It wouldnt take much for that minority to grow in size IMO.

As far as last hurrah's go, look for a 40th anniversary GT, perhaps only available in the original colour combo of gold with black stripes, and perhaps the reverse of that of black with gold stripes.

How much would it cost to develop the BOSS and Barra to that point opposed to the projected sales profit? It might not add up. BTW a 310+kW 6 is awesome
