Here are the BEST pictures to date, which hit the net about 10 minutes ago

Follow the link above to get high resolution versions. The dark sports model looks HOT! From a distance it looks slightly like a BF though.

I don't know man.. The front looks like it's got larger overhangs, The rear looks slightly smaller.. They are really trying to hide this new C pillar. Even giving it the AU-BA rear door opening..
Taillights seem similar with larger chrome??. Are we seeing a guard vent or what the eye sees isn't necessarily what the eye knows??

Pick number 1 looks very deceptive maybe?? You would almost say it's longer with a shorter wheelbase??.

Please noone shot me but is there a chance these cars getting around are BA Moles?? And the real one is the other pic adrenaline brought in the white one??.
I just read down a little and they say Orion is maybe getting around with BF skin is this possible, I know they did it with a AU my brother seen one and had a laugh at the guy because he had a bonnet bulge on a AU the hole front was black, Then it powered away hard it was a Turbo He then realised that wasn't a AU.

Hows the wheels on the black one space age. They could have zoomed in and seen the interior.

Those wheels show some Mondeo underpinnings.

Those overhangs automatically make the car look dated.

The headlights being wrapped around toward the wheel arches will reduce the effect.

It's funny though how all of the Commodore fans keep going on about how awesome the small overhangs of the Commodore are. Then there's the Ford fans that insist short overhangs are bad, and say that the Commodore looks like it's been punched in the face. Personally, I love the short overhangs of the VE.

Nice work Blitz!

2ndclass is right them wheels are on the mondeo.

In blitz's 2nd pic the bonnet does look like it has some type of bulge in the bonnet.

The second picture with the headlight is more so my thoughts of what the headlight could turn out to be - it could be completely different. What does spring to mind, and what has been brought up before, is that there may be the tear drop shaped headlight we see in the BF.

Is it just me, or is the bulge Slick mentioned seem to be going outwards the other way? As in shorter where the windscreen is then going outwards towards the front of the car?

Oh, and from "phillyc" from FF

"
Default
Based on the white mule. The picture is 790 pixels long from bumper to bumper. The rims are 71 pixels in both vertical and horizontal. Therefore the picture is undistorted. From front axle / wheel centreline to front bumper its 141 pixels. 456 in the wheelbase. 195 pixels from rear wheel centreline to rear bumper. 237 pixels tall.

What does all this mean?

Based on this the wheel size of 16" or 408mm then the length is 4528mm. Clearly, not long enough.

Based on 17" or 432mm, it will be 4806mm long. This will be used as the basis.
Height is 1442mm tall.
Wheelbase is 2774mm long. (seems far, far too short...)
Front overhang is 852mm
Rear overhang is 1186mm

The current BF falcon is 4854mm long and 1444mm tall. Wheelbase is 2829mm.

Considering comments by Ford Racing boss Ray Price that the Falcons wheelbase will have to be shortened to fit project blueprint, then I'm not sure about this car in the photo.

Is this really it? I think its a BA with different bits and pieces added. Not the real deal. "

And some kindly folk have done some photoshops as well, more accurate than mine

It does raise the question, I think we might be jumping the gun. Could be just a BA/BF mule with the underpinnings of the orion under the sheetmetal. The drip feed of information seems to be working again..

Said Ford fans obviously enjoy the lovely oversteer all the weight ahead of the front axle those lovely big front overhangs bring along.

I do also think it's BF mules. It can be right, But that pic Adrenaline got the white one seems the real deal.

I can assure you it's not a BF body - simply because much of the sheet metal is distinctly different. There are flared wheel arches, completely different boot size and shape, different glasshouse etc. And if it were a BA/F body, they wouldn't have disguised it.

* * EDIT * *

In general yes, but in the case of Orion, it will likely handle better than the VE either way. Even the BF comes close to being as good as the VE dynamically.

As incremental as many in the know perceive the step up between BF and VE handling, the Orion does not look that different in it's physicality to to the BF.

It'd be close, but i think the VE has more scope for improvement than another update of the BF architecture.
