if they had a decent V8 they wouldn't need to drop it in the first place
curious to see how the V6 works out.
or a diesel.

It's a good motor that's wasted, To be honest it needs to be roughed up to give it some balls and personality.

Diesel Large torque!!..FTW!.

Living the good life in Antarctica.
Confirmed today (well, technically yesterday), the GT is 315kw and the F6 is 310kw. There is quite a bit of speculation that there will be a higher output V8 available for higher models (such as GT-E).

So they'll be ever so slightly ahead on power until HSV goes to the LS3.

In he drive test the XR6T was doing 5.1 0-100 times, the F6 will be good for sub 5 0-100 times . Not sure if they will squeeze much more HP out of the 5.4, it has a 100mm stroke with a 6500rpm redline Ford really need the new 6.2L short stroke V8 to compete with the LSx engines.

I think the F6 will be a bit quicker, with its launch control and overboost function, the 370kw HSV will be quicker but also 60 grand dearer

I think its 317kw clutch, going by what Ive read and HSV quotes 317kw on their website. Where did you get the info about the 335kw LS3 ? They have detuned the Corvette motor as the torque limit on the HSV transmissions is 550nm

The F6 will be line ball with the R8 in weight and the F6 has more torque across a wider rev range.

But really a few tenths here and there means nothing really

The LS3 is 325kw in the C6 Vette, and you can get a 6spd auto in that, so I doubt they'll have an issue.

Its been detuned to meet the torque limit of the Tremec t56, which will be good for LS3 owners an decent tuned will get some easy KWs

Its not the auto its the manual the torque limit is 550nm, the corvette runs the Tremec TR6060 box and the HSV runs the tremec T56 IIRC.

Ford will run the Tremec 6060 in their FPV cars

The W427 has the TR6060 so that wouldn't be an issue either.

yep W427 runs the 6060, so no probs, eventually the whole HSV range will go over to the 6060

The 6060 is the replacement for the T-56 isn't it? Or are Tremec going to keep making it as a cheap'n'simple 6spd?

yep the 6060 is a better box than the old t56. The 6060 is good for 810nm of torque You can still but the tremec t56, the 6060 is just a heavier duty option for the Vette,G8 etc.
