Let the Tank Wars Begin!!!

Picked her up today.

1997 5L V8 NL Fairlane Ghia. Not in perfect nick on the outside but the inside is immaculate. 198xxx kays so its barely run in for a ford

its like riding on air, i love it, great change from the 200.

few little issues with it though

- cracked windscreen, fitting new one tuesday.
- will need 200k service monday as im driving to victoria tomorrow.
- CHECK ABS light constantly on
- AIR BAG light flickers on and off ( i suspect loose sensor somewhere)
- only noticed this once today, whilst sitting in a drive through the thing went stupidly hot, suspect thermos not turning on.

other then that its great! 6 stacker CD player in the boot which is nice, climate control, cruise, velour seats, leather shifter, a pretty wimpy V8 but its still a V8!!! needs a zorst.

Rang up about a LPG conversion from a specialist place and they quoted $3400 and done in 3 days including a dyno tune. Think ill take em up on that.

But yeh,

OH!

and ive decided to call her...

Nice car blue I have a soft spot for the EF/EL shaped falcons and fairylaines, LPG will make it fairly cheap to run, also needs a nice exhaust aswell. The 5L windsors sound sweet

Congrats on the engagement, whens the wedding or you going the long engagment route

Cheers
John

If she was as tall as him she would be on the national basketball team - and she isn't.

She is a normal hight, just next to Bluey she looks short

SUPERCHARGE IT! The Fairlanes were great cars till Ford gave up on developing them! Well now they're gone!

Congrats on the car and engagement mate. The gas conversion sounds expensive. You sure you will end up ahead on that? $3500 is a lot of extra money to pay for fuel.
Drop the rear resonator off and you should get an immediate improvement in V8 music!
