I thought he was talking about the Iveco truck expedition. There's Overland and Overland 2. In Overland, the 3 Iveco trucks journey to the North Pole and back. In Overland 2, they go through the jungle (forgot exactly where). I still have the tapes from when I used to watch them as a kid...

Actually, I'm interested in Overlanders at all. Have seen some pics of Overlander Ford Falcon Ute 4WD and a couple of Holdens. Looks interesting - some muscle lifted AWDs. But I didn't find any information on them. That's why I'm asking
By the way, was this car a ute before Overlander had it (I mean the car in your link)? Or Holden had such model in its program?

I think the only actual Overlanders are the Holden wagons, the Falcon XY 4x4 ute was a different project

The Overlander in that ebay link (pics retained below) uses a factory Holden body variant, the Panel Van. The packrack is aftermarket, but otherwise it looks stock-original including flares, wheels & ride-height

In essence, Overlanders were factory approved 4x4 conversions of regular 1977-'80 fullsize Holden HX/HZ model-series, plus the original 1976 HJ ute prototype. Overlander buyers could choose from most of the bodystyles, trim levels (and luxury options) available in the Holden range, including;

Panel Van (2-door high-roof) ebay pictures
Wagon (4-door low-roof)
Ute
One Tonner (2-door cab/chassis)
Statesman (lwb luxury sedan)

120 Overlanders were eventually built, including two Statesman, but Wagon, Panel Van and Ute were the most popular. Overlander was the brainchild of Arthur Hayward who's small company VEM (Vehicle Engineering & Modifications P/L) in Tasmania set up a low-volume 'production line' which converted mostly new (and some used) Holdens into Overlanders

Except for one 350 V8 One Tonner, all other Overlanders had the trusty 308cid Holden V8 (emissionized 161kW + 400Nm DIN) and TH-400 auto - plus VEM's additions of Dana 44 front axle, big Dana 60 rear & Dana M20 transfer box. VEM cast its own transfer adaptor, plus their surprisingly simple and straightforward chassis modifications and reinforcements to the already tough Holden design

As mentioned, the Overlander 4x4 conversion was factory approved by Holden. Significantly, VEM also gained govt type-approval as a licensed 'secondary manufacturer' with Holden agreeing to honour their factory warranty on everything not modified by VEM, who covered their own work. Not one warranty claim was made against VEM and by all accounts these vehicles were a well engineered, high-quality 4x4 and very capable performer in typical Outback conditions, a great unit. Btw every Overlander sold was supplied with a spare axle set and spare front & rear diffs

Overlanders are rare to begin with and seldom come up for sale. I join the many who've been tempted by them. In comparison the HSV Avalanche AWD is much too low slung for off-road plus has a bad dose of the visual pox, imo

Iirc about $42 for hand-made & custom-fit, so not bad value for that. The price of decent uggs in europe is mindbending so we sent three pairs over to Mrs nota's frozen-footed relos and now my mother-in-law luvs me
