Thats why we're covering it, and not the Chrysler recall.

Equally though theyre doing it as a cheap shot at Toyota because theyre doing a better job in the local climate than Ford and Holden. I see it more from the Holden people i think, perhaps as a result of almost instantaneously beating them in the sales race, they put on a 5K monthly sales buffer and now its extended to almost 10K per month. In effect, on a good month Toyota will outsell Ford and Holden combined.

Pop on over to the Toyota and Mitsubishi forums, And see how the other half looks at Ford and Holden.. I can see a bit of tit for tat.

Toyota is a super power, And to come 2nd to them is a good effort, I don't think topping them is going to happen anywhere in the world very often.

I just did and am amused at some of the threads that i found.

A few select quotes

On why FWD is better than RwD "with a FWD car, if you apply full throttle when cornering the car becomes understeering and the worst thing that can happen is that the car go straight, colliding longitudinally with the obstacles "

Prepare yourselves for trd echos "Does anyone have or know of anyone who has a trd badge i can buy to put on my new grille.........( i got a TRD grille off ebay but no TRD badge) "

Right because Toyotas are magical in that they repair themselves don't require fuel and go to a speical island where only Toyota's are allowed because they never die. "If ur planning to keep ur car long term go for toyota, they just keep going and going, how rare is it u see a corolla break down? i've never seen one in my life.!! "

Because Holden and Ford will trash your house and leave you bleeding in a allyway if you buy them "If you want something more zippy why not wait until the new TRD Corolla comes out? I dont trust Holden or Ford"

OMG the aurion egine is so good it can match v8s for grunt and because commerdore have never had v6's have they "for fuel efficiency, the Aurion is definately the WAY to go! rather buying a V8 with 6L engine or smething... "

Because quoting toyota on comparsions is hard evidence(Toyota have never put spin in there ad's)"Anyway... my point here is that the VE Commodore is a POS (Im talking about the direct competitors of the Aurion, so from Omega to SV6 only). Quickly, here is some supporting evidence to this fact:

Im sure some of you have already seen this : http://aurionv6.com.au/toyota/aurion/#aurionV6/battleOfThe6s"

After reading a few threads they are clearly as one eyed as the ls1 forum or fordforum, more so in that at least on the ls1/ford forums they can admit where there faults where toyota fanboys seem to ignore them.

Good collection you got there Syko..

I think they have a little hate behind there passion also, Maybe because of the FWD RWD thing, They hate to be overlooked just on that..

People who buy Toyota's usually are not Mark Skaife and Craig Lowndes, So in that way there not thinking getting everything out of this car i can, And if something bugs you complain about it till it's right or fixed.
People who drive toyota's are more towards a get around car that's good priced value and reliably..
Now i know of one guy that owns a VY Commodore Wagon V6 Auto. He is a travelling salesman, Who was a panel beater, I meet this guy when the VP was getting it's front repaired, He was just dropping in on his way way to SA, He lives on the road.. His car had 500,000km, It got all serves on time and anything that was going was replaced genuine new,
And i know a couple of Holden's and Ford's that have never left there owner stranded..
And i said once before i would love to see a same month and year Toyota up againt's mums VP, I'd love to see it used the same abussed the same and have 312,000km, I'd really like to see what condition it would be in..

But again most Toyota owners don't give a shit how many gears they have if it's RWD or how many cylinders and KW's and what Torque is where @ what RPM, They just drive them, And there not going to get on the net and moan about there cars or brake downs, And when you here something said about them it's overlooked as a chopper Reid yarn.

Most reasonably well-engineered cars that do open road kms can very high kms without problems. Hot running at highway speeds is that engines like best.
One of my bosses has a VY Commodore Executive - and just got a fairly large bill (over $2K) for mostly routine maintenance. Mostly things like shocks, brakes, brake pads, etc. There was one leak mentioned on the list he showed me. Car is only just out of warranty - I think its down around 100,000km. That 500,000km VY may give better mileage simply because its used so much and serviced so often.
That's where my cars often give me problems. I only do about 10,000km a year and low kms around town aren't good for most cars. Every time I get back from a long open road trip, any of the cars that I have owned always run that much better for a while.

Yep road trips are great, we do probably 2 trips a month to the shack and back, more at the moment with the construction happening, its a 350 km round trip, car always runs great.

With the VZ doing 500,000, if he gets it serviced regulary, he has probably had most things replaced, such as wheel bearing, rotors, probably calipers, diff bearing & seals, uni joints etc. the major components like engine,g box and diff may be original but all the other running gear has probably been replaced.

All those brand specific forums are full of fanboys, whose idea of modifying a car is with a chequebook , I only own holdens blah blah blah, pure ignorance, I go on the ford and LS1 forums always good for a laugh with their brand loyalty and all other brands being shite . The toyota ones would be the same just nerdier , I go on the Toymods one but thats mainly for modded toyotas, its a good technical site with only mild fanboyism

Running gear unchanged some problems he has had were water pump, power steering, radiator, That's about all i can think of, He had a laugh at me because i just got a cold air intake from a VS V6 supercharged and i wouldn't sit right over the radiator, He said you got to have the car running right before you get the go fast bits.
I was pissed because i was told the Auto's don't last much past 300,000km, I did the VP's about that mark.

But with serves for me i do them myself i change oil leads plugs coolant etc, I'm thinking of a chip to give it a new program to run on might make it run better all round.. We did injectors fuel reg fuel filter O2 sensor ourselves.. But i do have the auto serves once a year.
I am thinking of doing the rear rotors soon as i have 80% front brakes right now
