I was getting the surf serviced by a guy down the road( highly recomended), I could have done it but Im always away with work and lazy, he was local easy for the wife to drop off and pick up the car etc.
Anyway long story short, got LPG fitted on the car, car ran like a pig, new leads, plugs, coils etc car is great again. I had a check back on receipts for the last 2 years, plugs replaced , new leads etc. All the stuff I replaced on the Surf were at least 6 years old, even had different plugs in it 4 double electrode and 2 single electrode. Looks like the mechanic was charging without changing anything.

As the wife says if its not your racing car you never lift the bonnet, she is correct.

From now on I will service my own car, dealers are a ripoff.

Now theres a good idea we used to sell similar for box trialers at commos and im told most trucks run the same system

When i did some work at Ultra tune in my teens that was my biggest job packing the bearings, They told me if i fail to do it right the wheel will come off and i might kill someone.. So in other words don't **** up lol. It's a dirty arse job to do.

Slick when I was a apprentice mechanic, that was one of my jobs packing bearings, its a dirty job but it used to get my hands very clean and get rid of the dreaded mechanic hands, the grease seemed to lift out stains* from the hands.

*Not recommended on clothing LOL

nah but i DEFINITELY shower after i gym.

Theyre good because you can get more grip on things, things dont burn you if you accidently touch them, easier to clean your hands afterwards, as previously said, no skinned knuckles... benefits are endless.

thats the joy mate of working on cars, cuts, bruises, black fingernails.

Didnt have gloves round 20 yrs ago plus dont know if it would of gone down well in the workshop I worked in, they may of inserted the gloves where the sun dont shine
