This is a bit different for us in brazil, despite having some pick ups derived from "normal" cars like VW Gol...

these two cars are both derived from large sedans made locally. the only duel cab utes available previously have only been jap imports

I cant see much difference. Apparently there will be a soft 4x4 version too. SS has lighter load capacity with FE2 sports suspension, S and standard are one tonners.

Ford and Holden are not the only two companies that produce utes, 4 wheel drive or otherwise. Likewise crew cabs.

yeah, but theyre the only ones to my memory that make half mocoque, half seperate chassis utes. ford and holden are also the only ones to my memory to show the initiative in making a production or concept duel cab ute based on a large car. subaru make their baja, but thats medium sized

Thats because its an idiotic statement. Car companies follow fashions. Australian and Asian companies like to look European for some reason. US cars are a breed of their own. In most cases thats lucky for the rest of the world.
