All these people saying Monaro can be built anywhere zeta platforms cars are made. What do you think there is a big machine you put a platform in and poof out the other end comes a Monaro. As if any company would spend money to get all machinery and employees needed to create a car and then do it again in another country. That doesn't make any sense.

Does it really matter if the Monaro does go overseas. It is still an Australian designed car just americans are building it. I don't have a problem with that. The engine, drive train ect already comes from there and the majority of the electronics come from other countries as well. The volume of production over there might reduce the cost of buying a Monaro in Australia anyway.

i think thats a really big mistake (the free trade agreement) because of americas industrial size and that australia is gonna get squashed our automotive and entertainment industries will become almost un heard of well come to think of it nearly everything will bad choice i think

unfortunately. if people knew the whole truth about the FTA, howard would be gone. i mean howards cronies say quotas have been removed, exports to USA increased, but most of the tarriffs USA imposes on us are being phased over twenty years on stuff like beef and steel, while we're getting screwed right away on local content in media laws

The thing with the Monaro is it won't be 100% designed by holden if it goes over seas,
And in 97 the VT sold like bread and it didn't have a Gen3 or alloytech donk, It had 2 old engines the 3.8L and 5.0L. So with that i'm saying the engine side isn't a big deal, It's the look and feel you know where it comes from your happy it's built here it's got a history in this country and noone else's,

Let's go into the U.S forum and ask them how they would feel if we took over building of there Vette and sent it to them It would go down faster then a intern in the oval office
