Spyker = Spay-kuhr and not Sp-eye-kuhr

but it is not pronounced in the way you wrote it down phonetically.

the "y" sound as used in Spyker does not exist in many languages.

The name used to be written as Spijker.

Me neither, I think it's probably the closest to the "ay" as used in "away", or "ey" as used in "they".


So it's Sp-ey-kuhr I guess?

it is neither an "y" sound nor an "ay-ey" sound. there is no English equivalent sound for it.
